I just got a modded X Box from my friend. He sayed it was modded with the Xecuter and he got on X Box Live and said they wiped out everything on his HD(which is upgraded). He is out of town for the next week so I cannot find out what version of Xecuter he has. Is ther anyway to tell? What do I need to do so that I can take advantage of the mod chip? Like burn games and movies to the HD?

I don't think xbox live erases your harddrive if you sign on with the mod chip on, they do however ban your xbox forever.
As far as the programs go, a program to backup your games (that you own) is called dvd2xbox.
In order to install that program however, you will also need to install a dashboard such as evox or avalaunch or xbox media center. You can either do this the hardway and install everything yourself or just download an autoinstaller and have it do all the work for you.
I don't really know that much about the xecuter chip itself, but i'm sure someone here will tell you how to find out which version you have.

username and password should be xbox and make sure that you are using a crossover cable if it is just connected staright to the PC or if you have both the PC and Xbox connected to a Router, make sure you set the Xbox IP address to DHCP in the Evox config file. _________________ "Modding the world, one xbox at a time"
