I have a xbox that i try to softmod, with sid3 i follow the tuturial of the softmod install deluxe 2.0.
the xbox was made in china
manufacturing date is 7-04-2005
SN: 214845451505
The problem is: after i put the game save SID3.Mechassault.Xbox-Hq.zip (unziped) on the unmoded xbox and insert the original game when i make "Run Linux" it apears a green letters that say: "Service required. Call customer suport" insted of the installer menu. The original games still runing but i canīt softmod the xbox.
I try with another xbox an the installer has boot just fine, so I think the problem is because the xbox its from another version and is to new.
There is some way to solve this problem?
And how can i know the version of the xbox because the information that i found is to old 2004 an the xbox is from 7-04-2005?

weird i have a brand new xbox to but mine worked it has a thompson drive also i suggest retrying to put the save on it may of curropted? copy it from the xbox that worked and then load it again? mine went pretty well MAKE SURE U HIT Create MS Backup SOON and the menu comes up! OH btw i uSEd SID 2.0 try 2.0 maybe thats the diffrence?

I solved the problem, i was using a memory card (not a xbox memory), and the problem was in this. After i solve this I had another problem - the error Batch Process Failed, so then I read the solution to this problem in this forum and voila the softmod works very well. I think this error should be correct (in AID 2.02 update) because I udate the AID2.0 to the AID 2.02 (is suposed this update, update first to 2.0.1) and with this update every thing should be ok. But this not append then i have to download again AID 2.0, 2.01, and 2.02 so I can update first to 2.01 and then to 2.02.
in the end every thing works well and i thanks to the people that make this possible, and have been made a great job.

well, here's something funny, i've been experimenting with softmods, i have a chipped xbox so i don't worry about stuff much, but i must learn as much as i need, and this is what happened to me.
1.- used action replay to get 007 SID, on an arsenal memory card from blockbuster, installed softmod and worked fine, and yes with 5960 patch, since xbox is a 1.6b.
2.- well, everything went fine, untill i decided to try again, well i restored everything to deafault, and kinda doing stuff from scratch, so i do it again, but this time, xbox dash won't load, i get error 21, but i can coldboot and i can boot backups *booting evox cd*, now, since this happened, i thought it was funny, cause it worked once, but now it won't, my xbox is not online on xbox live, but it's connected to my router, so can it be possible that it auto detected it self and did something to prevent this ????
i'll be downloading other gamesave exploits and see how it goes, like i said, i got chipped xbox, and i'm ok if i f#&@ up, but learning softmodding is cool.

EDIT: my results are.
1.- SID 3.0 ........... never worked again
2.- SID 2.0 ........... works like a wonder, re-installed it 3 times to make sure.
3.- UXB final *french*......... works just like SID 2.0, but i'll use this one if SID 2 doesn't work on softmodded.*original dash board doesn't load with out editing names on xbe files*
As for SID 3.0, i don't know anymore, but i've only tried the 007 hack, cause that's the only game i own of the 3 to softmod.

i was thinking of installing sid 3.0 but nah i see ur having issues with it and a mod responded to my post about the boot up menu xD SID 2.0 it is xD
