How do u set up an ftp between computer and xbox.
I bought cross over cables, because my router is far away. I think i'm having problems with setting up the IP. I'm using flash fxp. It just keeps saying that connection failed.
Any help appreaciated, thanks

You will need to start up the xbox and it's network as well as your computer. Both need IP addresses different from each other but still somewhat simular like 192.168.2.1 & 192.168.2.2. when i set up my xbox to 192.168.0.2 and my comp to 192.168.0.3
i get this response:
[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.2 -> IP=192.168.0.2 PORT=21
[R] Connected to 192.168.0.2
[R] Connection failed (Connection lost)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1
what should i do?
my firewall permits flashfxp to work

it still isnt working. the only thing i feel may be a problem is my computer is connected to the internet through wireless. and then my xbox is connected to the comp. it says there is low connection in the tray, but i was told that shouldnt make a difference.

right, its a crossover. when connected to my comp, the comp reads that there is little or low connectivity..

I see a lot of ppl having probs using crossover cable. Is it possible for you to just connect a Cat5 line from the back of your wireless router to your Xbox. I think using a router is the easiest config.
I have helped dozens of people with this setup and they have all connected first or second try.
Here is a tutorial from our site, never used it but maybe it will help.
Personally, I still think using the router is the easiest way to go. Just plug a cat5 or cat6 cable from the back of your wireless router to your Xbox.
Then, on your PC click on the start button, then ALl programs, accessories, system tools, command prompt (Assuming you have windows XP OS). May differ with other OS.
Once you have the dos box open, type: ipconfig
Look for the IP address and write down. Most likely will be something like 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.1.101, especially if your router is a linksys that will be the IP.
Once you have that, go into your evox settings and put the ip to be on same range, just change last three digits. For instance you could use 192.168.1.109 or 192.168.1.200 even. The first three sets of numbers must match..this keeps you on the same IP range.
Once done, you MUST scroll down to SAVE AND EXIT. Reboot the xbox. I have used cuteFTP, but I highly suggest using FlashFXP once you are ready.
