I have an ALX2 mod chip which is hardly heard of at all and made in the UK. This has now screwed up and I need a new one. Having only had it 6 months I'm not going to buy another one of those. The thing that made me buy it was that you could just turn it off by pressing the eject button to boot your xbox rather than power and so I could use live. I wanted to know if the xenium chip has anything similar as I have heard it is an excellent chip but I cannot find anything about how to turn it off on their website. Thanks.

I love my Xenium for one reason. The ease of getting on Live.

All I do is turn my machine on, then it comes to a screen that allows me to select MS Dashboard, or Xecuter2.

If I select MS Dashboard, it launches the MS Bios and makes sure my modchip is off.

If I select Xecuter2 it loads that bios and then boots evox.

I love my chip...now, I have only had it for two months, so I can't vouch for any longevity yet.

When you order, it will come with a pin header and a wire for D0 connection. Good luck!

hi xboxhacker_uk,

Well the APPLEXV and the ALLADIN MODCHIPS have exactly the same features as you want..

The APPLEXV must have the XBOX power button held for 2 seconds for it to boot to the hacked bios and EVOX DASHBOARD.
If you just turn it on as normal it will load the normal Xbox Bios and show the original XBOX M$ Dashboard..

Same goes for alladin except it also uses your POWER LIGHT on the front of your xbox to show your HARD DRIVE ACTIVITY.. (not a bad idea at all).

anyway, hope that gives you some more ideas..

Also, I installed my first APPLEXV in November, 2003 and have not had a problem with any of the xboxes i have moded (over 30)

anyway, talk soon

Now that is a smart idea.

Sounds like there's another chip for all to think about Wink

Sounds like this chip is good I think I'll get it. With regards the HDD activity on the power LED I have soldered a 100K resistor to the IDE and then to the driver for the red side of the LED, this makes mine flash purple as it has blue/red leds in it but normally it flashes yellow. See this tutorial http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/amberled.php

You say you already have the metal shield off, so you should see where the jewel is when you turn the top half of case upside down.

You will want to heat it up (from the bottom side) with a blow dryer so you can get it off. It should weaken the adhesive enough, but be careful not to warp anything....yes, I know too late for me, but on with the mod.

After it feels pliable, turn it over (so you're looking at top of case)and try to get a butter knife under the jewel and gently start to pry it off. Just do a little at a time, if it seems to get tough to do, just heat it up a little more.

Once you have the jewel off you can freeze it to weaken any black adhesive left on it.

Then if you like you can even sand the green off and be left with a super clear jewel that still says xbox on it...

later hobs!!

Hi everyone

There is an easier way of clearing your green xbox jewel just get yourself a couple of old rags and a can of BRASSO metal polish then with one rag on your lap and the other loaded with brasso start rubbing away, with in about half an hour you should have a nice clear jewel. (and if you only use one rag a lap full of green paint so I found out Confused )

Thanks for that. Sounds a lot easier than sanding.
