why xbox dvdrom cant read cdrs???is it b/c firware or laser or motor or just b/c it deos not like cdrs??and deos it read dvdrs or not?iam confused about dvdrs whther thomson dvdroms can read them or not. i never got a proper answer about dvdrs???

If you really want your thompson to read cd-r discs check xbox-scene for tutorials on pot tweaking. I don't recomend doing this because:
A. you could easily destroy your drive
B. your drive might not read dvds after, and its picky as hell about the cd-rs you use
C. it's a pain in the ass
D. cd-rw discs don't cost that much more, and you can use them over and over
Before attemping that try using a Memorex music cd-r, my thompson reads them sometimes. (I burn at 12x, try a slower speed)
As for the dvd question dvd-r and dvd-rw, YES I haven't tried +.

If you've got Evox.bin and Slayer's EvolutionX installed most cdrs will play.

I screw both of the pots on my Philips-reader. Before I did it I just put a small mark on the pot so I could put them back in the state it was before me starting to "screw".
Now my philips reads everything before it didnīt read anything, just some DVD-copies and the original games.
