ok, i have a v1.0 unmodded stock box showing e16, no problem finding info on that. i tried the xboxhdm hotswapping with no eeprom tut, problem starts here. got the drive to successfully unlock - cool. used option #2 to rebuild c drive - ok. i previously downloaded and inserted the ms dash i wanted into the correct folders before making the iso, etc. on screen everything went peachy with the rebuild and it only took something like 7 - 10 mins - no prob. next, i powwered down my pc, then my xbox, then I reconnected everything back together in the box. went to fire it up and BAM......e16 again.
Am I doing anything wrong? Am I turning things off when I am not supposed to? I'm a little lost on it. I don't have a mod chip anymore, I don't have a memcard or any of the games to make a softmod (rental store does tho) so the question is....can i put the softmodded files on the xboxhdm iso and do a total rebuild on the drive to make it pre-modded or will that screw things up? If I can can someone pm me what the file tree should look like on the partitions to make this happen so everything can play nicely?
Thank you to all in advance for helping me through this.
(yes, i know, punctuation and capitalization are not my strong suits when typing.)

ok first try to boot the original game (that u used to softmod this xbox)
if you can boot it you can reload the softmod menu and redo the softmod (don't forget to install a dash after installing softmod) _________________
sorry pirrup, i might not have been too clear on my questioning....no prob I'll ask it again since i do understand what you said, but to do that would it require me to put the hacked gamesave of the game I want to use on the drive image made by xboxhdm that way I can skip the whole memory card thing since i dont have one atm nor any way to connect it to my pc? If so....do I put it in e:\tdata or e:\udata on the disk?
i appreciate the help you are giving me man, even though it is prolly driving you nuts.

sorry but you need a mem card or self made usb to put gamesave on the xbox . _________________
thanx for the help pirrup and your tut, but i think im gonna just chip this box since i have run into this streak of bad luck with this HDD. If that doesnt work then I'll just replace the drive and I'll give softmodding a try on a stable working box.
