i am trying to softmod my xbox i have the AID 2.0 when i try and install the SID 3.0 my screen just goes black i had 2.0 on it and it worked but since i have AID 2.0 i need SID 3.0.. i thought it might be the game. i am using mechassault i looked up the serial and its an original.. but on the manual it should certain settings it should be
Controls: Normal
Difficulty: Regular
Current Level: Going Down Hard
mine says
Controls: Normal
Difficulty: Regular
Current Level: suffer the silence
but like i said according to the serial (MS02301L) this is the original
any ideas on this problem... again i was able to load SID 2.0

Ill send a quick email to DJB the author to see if he has anything to add to your topic. If you can boot SID2 i dont see why you cant boot the latest one..

I need more information on what you used to put the gamesave on your xbox. For example, the type of device (usb storage / memory card0 and how you loaded it.

i used an action replay mem card and sid 2.0 from here. i loaded that one fine nothing.. so i decided to try something i opened the sopftmod menu and went to game saves installed the sid mod mech save tured my xbox off and turned it on and i got the sid 3.0 softmod section.. so i hit install softmod chose to boot from c:/ and with tray open ..it would start to install then i get an error screen no numbers or anything it just says error.. so i chose to install without drive open it seems to install fine...so i turned the xbox on put AID V2.0 disc and before it gets to read it i get the error 21 and says to cantact microsoft. i can still boot up original games so i was able to restore my C:/ backup... i thought maybe the disc was bad but it reads the disc as a game from the SID V2.0 so i know its good. NEED HELP

Action Replay memory card, there's the problem right there more than likely. They are not 100% guarenteed to be able to copy the gamesave over correctly, I've seen tons of posts with this problem. I suggest trying an official xbox memory card, or alternatively you could try a Mega X-Key.

i decided to start from scratch put my xbox back to retail mode.. put the SID 3.0 on my action replay again and tried the soft mod.. this time everything worked.. installed softmod chose C:/ with tray open then installed evox dashboard. now i had already made the auto installer disc but without the patches is it best for to have the updates.. also the auto installer seemed to work but after the unleashx screen it just goes black and nothing happens. but at least i know i'm on the right track.. just need alittle help with the auto installer and making a good iso.. thanks for any help

Yes it's advised you have the 2.02 ISO because 2.0 has problems with softmod.
