hey all I dont usually ask for help with this kind of stuff because I've done it so many times. However this is a little weird. I just bought a seagate baracuda 160gb hard drive, but I cant get aid to boot up. Im using a 1.4 box with a shipder chip. the spider chp runs FINE and has a evox m8 1.6 127+ bios It has run fine forever and just did the same thing to another box ealier this week (just dif hard drive). I know baracudas can lock because I've done 2 300gb ones. I keep getting error 21. doea anyone!! HAVe any clue why this is happening??? i really need help on this! It runs fine with the stock hard drive (with the spidey running) _________________ Blue Chaos

I have to add a dummy file? i got the aid on a dvd-r and it works fine. what does the dummy do with a dvdr? i thought you only had to have it for cds? _________________ Blue Chaos

The Dummy file on a DVD does the same thing as the CD, it moves the used data to the outer tracks of the DVD. I made on with a DVD+R with a 1gig dummy file and haven't had any problems. I used at one time the same hard drive exept it was 120gig and didn't have a problem. I would try the dummy file. Maybe the new xbox's DVD drive is just a bit more sensative to where the data is on the DVD. Now that I think of it I did have the same problem with my 1.6 box before putting on the dummy file.
It wouldn't hurt to give it a try. _________________ XBOX v1.6
