ok, my friend and i installed a spider chip 1.1 on his v1.4box. it came with the cromwell linux bios but we flashed the chip with flashbios3.03. when we goto flash a bios using a disc the error message reads "no bios update found... halting" does this mean it will work if we find the right disc and media or is it screwed. please help

I moved your post to this forum area in hopes you'll find your answer. You had it in the game hacking section.
I would think that the reason you are getting that error message is because you possibly have to rename the bios you are using, or maybe it's the wrong size bios?? It can also be beause there is a problem with the disk, but I'd lean to the name first.
For instance, if you were flashing an X3 chip with a bios disk you would most likely have to rename the bios to bios.bin
If your bios currently is named something like X24983_06.bin try renaming it to bios.bin and then remake your disk and try again.

Are you reflashing a flashing utility e.g. Flashbios 3.03. If you are, This does you no good. You need a hacked M$ bios.
I Hope that was a mis type. BUT accidents do happen. I am not sure of the bios size required for the Spider chip (256k, 512k, or 1024k.) Someone will be able to chip in with what you need.
Example of Hacked M$ bios' would be: Xecuter 2 bios' (256k and 512k flavors) and Evox's M8 bios' (i think just 256k)
Then you flash those accordingly. Like Modgod said, you might have to rename them. _________________ XBOX v1.6
