Hey all...although I have opened many machines and have found a few surprises in them, nothing like this puppy. The customer sent me two machines. One was at his place, and the other was at his relatives since someone was borrowing it. He had no idea that his relative had guests...
These guests were living INSIDE the Xbox.
When I started to remove a screw from the bottom I could have sworn something was popping out of one of the vents. All of a sudden I see a head of a bug peeking out of the machine.
Immediately, I took the machines outsite and proceded to open them. One was safe as a home run, but the other was totally infested with two types of cockroaches. There was cockroach shit all over the place. It took me a little more than four hours to clean the machine. Some parts were just thrown away and new ones installed.
I was telling a few people about it and they wanted to see some pics. The video is the best as I didnt' get too many good still photos but here are three.

That happened to me too! The first Xbox I ever modded... A friend let me do it to his, and he has a very clean house. He told me that he let his cousin borrow it for a few weeks. geez
It was pretty bad
Apparently this is a common occurance for people who may have a few roaches. I loked it up on the net and apparently the Xbox is just warm enough to make a nice little colony. _________________ -Scourge "Rx = +/_\"

COLONY? Shit man..this was a frigging COUNTRY!
On top of the fan (which I had to completely pull out and throw away) there lied the mamma cockroach...it had to be cuz all the baby cockroaches were huddled all around it...looked like a bunch of baby pigs feeding off their mother!
What a blast that whole situation was!! It was in no way his fault..he had no idea. You can tell that these things were in there for quite some time though. I feel bad for him. He had it at his house for two days before he shipped it off to me!! I only had it out of the box for about three minutes before I saw. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Hi guys,
Id really hate to be living in the house where the xbox came from originally.. Obviously the owner needs to look into some pest control.. my god.. Fair enough one roach but not a colony like the picture shows..
I would have dumped a roach bomb in my house too after even opening it near my room MG.. Dont want even one of those eggs dropping on your carpet etc..
I bet it stunk tooo.. Really stunk..
I remember fixing one of my relatives video recorders years ago and it could be fixed.. It was infested and stunk to high heaven..

Hey, maybe the roaches are what takes the info from the disc and transfers to the HDD. _________________

Actually, there was no odor at all...strangely.
I put roach traps all over the house, sprayed everywhere I could even outside where I was killing them...lol. I haven't seen one in the house yet...crossing fingers.
I feel bad for the guy who sent it to me. He had it in his house for two days before he shipped it off to me. He had no idea they were in there. The other machine was completely roach free...just your normal dust accumulation.
This machine that had all the roaches was at his cousins house whom he had lent this particular machine to. If memory serves me correctly it was a colledge dorm/apartment that it was in! _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
