A week or so ago I had 007 / softmod 2.0 / evox dash installed and working but it lacked the MS Dash. In my feeble attempt to fix it using the AID 2.0 dvd I managed to end up with error 21 / no ftp / no bootable media. I went a step further with xboxhd and managed to hose it even worse resulting in error 16.

I did quite a bit or reading and managed to bring it back to life using the backup created in E/backup/MS by the original softmod. Let me shout out a big thank you to all of those who have taken the time to figure all of this out and write tutorials.

Started the softmod from scratch but this time with 007 / action replay / game save with softmod v3.0 and AID 2.0. Got to the install softmod / msdash on the AID dvd and errored out with "rename". Back to 007 / softmod 2.0 and this time tried "patch ms5960" from the menu. This resulted in a "rename" error as well.

I'm back exactly where I started a week ago. Softmod 2.0 / evox dash / minus the msdash. I read about AID update 2.01 and grabbed that but after my last experience am not willing to proceed until I can get one of you smart guys to tell me EXACTLY the process to get from where I am to where I want to go.

*Edit* Apologies...I have SID 3.0 installed / Evox dash /

Again, thanks to all of those who help.

2kd

OK, try this:

1) Grab AID 2.0 and the 2.01 update pack
2) Make a 2.01 ISO using the original 2.0 ISO and the 2.01 update
3) Burn the 2.01 ISO to a DVD
4) Put SID 3 onto your memory card
5) Delete any old SID gamesaves.
6) Copy SID 3 from the memory card to the xbox
7) Run SID 3, and install softmod
8) Turn off
9) Insert AID 2.01
10) Go to the Softmod Section
11) Select "Install NKpatcher + MS dash"
12) Select where you want it to boot
13) It's installed

If your hacked dashbaord (evox) was on C drive before, you'll have to reinstall it again. Make sure you install it within the softmod section, as the external install dashboards is for modchips.

Hope that helps...

Thank you DJB for your reply...however, I am not clear on a couple of things.

5) Delete any old SID gamesaves.
6) Copy SID 3 from the memory card to the xbox

At which point to I delete the existing 007 game save and using which method?
And then re: #5 I am assuming that after I have deleted 007 game save my xbox will still be able to boot to the 007 dvd and allow me to load the save once again in order to start over?

OK, just read your edit, you're already using SID 3. In this case you could skip parts 5 and 6.

To delete the gamesave you can either use the MS Dashboard, or the SID 3 menu if it shows up.
