There has been a lot of progress made so far, but still no luck.
You can track the progress on www.ps2ownz.com but they seem to be down at the moment. Hopefully they'll be back on line soon..

I guess the most difficult problem is to find a media (small one) that can handle the contents of GC games.
So far, the closest one is the mini CDR which doesn't contain that much. Sad

There are mini dvd-r's available but still very expensive. They range between $6 and $9 Aus and are hard to find.

To date there has only been the Freeloader boot disk for the Game cube which only allows you to play original imports. There has been some talk about an add-on adaptor but that's to play Game boy games.
No modchp for it as yet. There has been some talk about a modchip for it available in HK, but I think that's just talk.
The Freeloader boot disk has allowed a group over in the States to copy a game onto a mini DVD-r and get it to boot up to the loading screen but no further as yet.

dont be so modest man... oh and about that cheapmod clevermod chip thing... if i already have the cheapmod installed how would i change it? take the chip out and swapped it with the new one and then solder those couple of new wires so i can flash it a lot easier? or do u think i would be better off just upgrading to a good modchip like a matrix or XecuterPro? and do u know if the XecuterPro's are hard to install?

thanks buddy Laughing Cool

Yes. I can confirm that I saw that too.
But when I sent them a mail, they have never responded. Sad
so I guess it was just a hoax.

At the moment your cheapmod is write enabled, like all cheapmods which means that pin 7 on the chip is held high (3.3v) to write enable it. To write protect the chip, you need to disconnect pin 7 from the 3.3v and earth it. Then connect it to pin 6 on the Clevermod. You also need to disconnect your modchip from the 3.3v on the mother board and connect that to pin 7 of the Clevermod. Very simple to do. I also install two led's to the front panel of the Xbox and they light up when the chip is enabled and when it's write enabled as well.
So far as getting another chip, waste of money.
