Hi!

For the last few days, I tried to FTP my Xbox without success. Here is a list of my accessories:

- A softmodded Xbox (UnleashX & Evox)
- PC (Windows XP Pro) with a Network card
- 1 Ethernet cable (crossover)
- FlashFXP & CuteFTP

First of all, I desactivated the firewall on Windows. After, I went to the Control Panel, Network Connections, Local Connection, Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and went in the properties. I changed the IP to 192.168.0.3 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 Then, I restarted my PC. I open my Xbox (UnleashX) and went in the Network properties. I put a static IP and put as IP 192.168.0.2 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Then I closed my Xbox. I connected my PC to my Xbox with my crossover cable and started the Xbox, and both machines (Xbox & PC) detected the cable. After, I open FlashFXP, I do quick connect, put as Server 192.168.0.2, username and password is xbox, on port 21. I also checked off passive mode. When I try to connect, it says "Connection timed out" and it doesn't work. It does the same with Evox.

Here are more details on the configurations on my Xbox.

Network enabled: Yes
Type: Static
IP: 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 0.0.0.0
DNS1: 0.0.0.0
DNS2: 0.0.0.0

Please tell me what I have to do to FTP my Xbox!

Thanks a lot!

Mike

Seems like you have another firewall that blocks the connection. Or you can try to change some settings of the network card in device manager.

My settings are:
XBOX UnleashX: 192.168.0.50
PC: 192.168.0.1 : 255.255.255.0

It works without problems.

try this on your xbox
set the ip in evoxsystem settings to 192.168.0.2
set the dns gateway to 192.168.1.1

then go to your pc and go to your tcp/ip properties
click use the following ip adress wich is your "dns gateway" 192.168.1.1

pass=xbox
port=21

bucks88, Hi

Lets get you sorted! Ok for a start I have a router (not cross-over).. Things were pritty simple and first attempted work for me so i'll do my best to get you running!!

1. Check your Cross-over lead.

I have had leads that worked, but not 100% I.E. very slow, conection kept closing.. So check this out! get a new one if poss.

2. Try using the setup I used:

PC

Go into FlashFXP (Cute kept crashing my xbox on uploading) & setup a new conection! NOT quick one..

All setting I left apart from the IP, user & pass

Now what ever firewall you use even if its stopped you should allow all flow in & out to 192.168.1.11 (I had my firewall up and running conected to xbox downloading & uploading fine!) I use McAfee 2005 which can be found on the net in the right places Cool

I have had firewalls block even when closed! I.E. Zone Alarm!

------THIS WILL WORK!!------

If you still have problems then check windows Lan driver? or leads as put..It really should work fine with these setting... Networking is so easy when you get your head round it!

GOOD LUCK

If you still have problems Email me @ slim@games4nuke.com and i'll try to help you more Smile
