Hello, I am new to modding but I want to soft mod my xbox and can not get past the first step. Softmod Installer Deluxe v2.0 down loaded on to my computer as a RAR file. I have tryed to loaded it on to action replay with no luck. I also put it into a zip file still no luck. Can some one help. Than You.

How did it go?
I've spent the last 3 days reading up on softmoding, tracking down an original 007 game, splicing a usb into my controller and spending 40 something dollars on and original xbox memory card.
And WABANG -----Nothing
It seems that i can't see the sid 007 zip with Action replay so i can't get the game saves on the memory card. ( I can't see any of the SID zips in AR)
I downloaded a few game saves from codejunkies.com and AR saw them and transfered them alright to the memory card, so i don't know.
Anyone........Anyone at all
I need some guidance please.

I am not all up on the Action Replay. I know there is a couple of guys on this site that will be more of a help. I have a modded xbox so moving the installer and game save was no problem.

Hey, i can't help but noticicng you having problems. Trust me, it took me 3 months, and an unlocked (then rebooted with no chip) harddrive to figure this out. Man, i was pissed. But, my friend bought a XeniumICE, and we were good to go, he set it back to stock, and I FINALLY found the AID. YOU on the otherhand, have an advantage, you have the AID first.
Basically, you don't need just a M$ Memory card. That's fulluv sh*t. I did mine with a hacked controller, an AR card, and the second edition 007 (right before Platinum hits ) Anywho, the initial AID .rar is way too big for your mem card. it ain't gonna happen. Pull out your 007 choice (using WINRar www.rarlabs.com). That should be your zip file. NOW, using the Action Replay software, drop that onto your card. This WILL take forever. Go, get a sandwich, maybe a beer, and come back in about 10 minutes.
Now that that's done, go and load it onto your xbox. (this might take a second, so finish your beer ) Now, run 007, load the game save and BAM! you have one of the easiest Ways to soft mod your box ever made. MAKE YOUR BACKUP BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING! then you may have fun.

It's very simple.
1. You extract the .zip file of the game exploit somewhere like on Desktop.
2. Open up Action Replay.
3. Drag the .zip file into Action Replay under "PC Database" (YES INTO THE PROGRAM! That is why why you were told to put it in covenient place like Desktop.) Action Replay will prepare the .zip file. It should appear in your game saves list.
4. Drag the prepared save from "PC Database" to your Memory card. This should take about a minute.
5. Transfer the save to your Xbox hard drive. Boot up the game, and you should know where to go on from there.
Note: The rumor with Official Microsoft Xbox memory cards is true. They transfer the saves better with no errors. I tried about 10 times to transfer a save to the included Action Replay card, and it would never end up the same blocks as the number of blocks Action Replay displayed from the prepared .zip game save. However, it worked fine with an Official Microsoft Xbox card.

Now for the rest of the mod..............
OK that went well, i think.
Now i have Evox for a dashboard........Cool
Now i still have to ftp the xbox in order to transfer the applications to the hard drive.
Question? do i still have to flash the bios or did the SID V2 do this already during the install?

No BIOS flashing is needed, since the softmod runs on a BIOS which is put on the HDD.

After I downloaded WinRAR ever thing fell into place. Loaded 007zip on to Action Replay 8MB card, transferd on to XBOX, put 007 game disc in, loaded game save from hard drive, and BAM!!! It worked on the first try. With in an hour copyed Halo 2 to hard drive and was playing with my son via system link on a 2nd XBOX. Thank You Cantgetright for your help.
