My daughter (2nd grade) entered her elementary schools yearly talent show. Mind you, this is just a little thing they put together, it's not a contest and some of the acts are quite hysterical. From singing london bridge is falling down while playing the tune on a Mattel Simon game, to jumping on a pogo stick to the tune of rappers delight...lol.
But, my daughter never sang in front of people in her life and I could not believe she did this. I was quite proud, I never had guts like that when I was her age...never. She and a friend sang a Hilary Duff song.... it was hysterical. They only practiced it three times and it was quite comical. Just thought I'd share the moment..
It's a little mpg file I made from the video I took..it's about 48MB in size.. Listen real close to the introduction...the M.C. was supposed to say that Jenna Loves playing her Xbox...but the lady didn't know what an Xbox was so she was afraid to mispronounce it...so she hesitated, and said, "with her friends". Was funny. BTW, my daughter is the short one..lol

At least I know what dreams are made of. I always wondered that.
Since we are sharing family photo's, I will share my daughters senior prom photos from this Saturday. She's only a sophomore but was invited by the dude in one of the pictures. There is another picture of her and a friend. I told her that she cleaned up pretty good. She got huffy!!

ModGod, you have an adorable daughter, I was trying to hold off on children but my wife saw your video and I'm not sure how much longer I can keep her at bay.
Shark you have a lovely daughter as well but I think it is my duty to warn you of something: that boy looks identical to my cousin. So much so, I regret to say, that I recommend you shoot to kill. _________________ XBOX v1.6:

God bless her...I hope my daughter has the nerves to do that. She gets stage fright everytime. Maybe I'll use this to encourage her. If this works, I'll owe you big time. She's 14 and has never been in front of a crowd. But yet she'll act a fool when we have guests. Go figure. _________________

What you have to understand is my daughter is sweet as hell, but very very shy... that is why I was astonished that she actually went through with that... I have no idea where it came from, out of the blue she said she wanted to sing in the talent show....
I think that show created a monster though... now I have a major ham on my hands...lol. Her and her friend think they are going to host a summer show in my front yard... oh man, they are already setting ticket prices, figuring concession goods, and signing autographs.... it is hysterical how effected they are now over singing in this little venue. To give you an idea how small her school is, it only houses K through 2nd grade. We are in the largest school disctrict in Westmoreland County, yet we lucked out getting her into this smaller school.
I understand how frightening it is to get up in front of people.... when I was 19 years old I started doing stand-up comedy at a local comedy club on open mic night. I planned 15 minutes of material and only remembered 6....lol. But, once I got the first couple times out of the way, the rest was a snap. I got hooked... I ended up spending the next five years traveling as an M.C. for a few national touring comedians... got a few guest sets at the larger comedy clubs, and did a lot of opening for other comics too. I never got serious enough to pursue headlining, but thought about auditioning for improv shows and stuff like that...just unfortunately didn't take it serious enough to realize what I could have gotten out of it. To me, I was just getting paid to have fun... I didn't look at it as a career or anything. Now I see a lot of the comics that I did a few things with and am in awe of what they have accomplished and still are doing.... _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Modgod, sounds like performing runs in the family, after hearing about your comedy standup this has to be true.
I still have to get some time to download the MPG and view it, but from what you've told me about your daughter before it's not a surprise she can get up in front of lots of ppl and surprise them like that.l If anything, it'll get her out of her shyness a bit quicker hopefully.
There's no doubt in my mind that you would be hella proud (hehe hella) of her, as I would be if I were you.
I have some musical talent myself (might as well talk about it a little hehe). I started playing Piano when i was 6, then moved to Organ at around 9 or 10. At 14 I started playing Drums and Guitar also. These days (27) I hardly play at all which is sad, but one day I'd love to get back into it, even if it's just getting as far as playing small local pubs / clubs like I used to a few years back.
Anyways, only got about 10 minutes b4 I have to head off, so I'll just quickly check emails etc and go.
Keep rocking y'all.

Funny stuff fellas, but on a serious note...
How do you deal with guys eyeing or going out with your daughter?
Im young so this is only a taste but i have a younger cousin (bout 2 yrs younger) who is like a daughter to me and i instinctivly protect her, when some of my mates saw a picture of her... well they made the comments guys normally would about a hot girl...to cut this short i almost knocked out my best friend for his comment, and made a few of the others seriously sorry...
So how do you deal with it... and not freak out and go all "angry pants" as she likes to call it? _________________ WE ALL STARTED DIEING AT BIRTH

My daughter isn't stupid. She has strong morals and has stood up against her little party animal friends. They were the ones that came around to her way of thinking. I won't worry until she gives me a reason to. Honestly, if something were to happen, do you truly think it would be within my hearing range anyway?
