I know I have previously endorsed www.paintedxbox.com, but some new events have cropped up to make me think twice about his integrity. Everyone here who has done business with me knows that I am an honest person and will do all I can to help people. What this company is doing to me is a broad slap in the face.

On or about March 16th this company purchased a 1.2 mobo/power supply from me. As a favor to the companies owner, I sold it to him at my COST! They received the products, here is the shipping record:

Unfortunately, Return Warehouse (the company that furnishes my products) shipped me a bad Power Supply which I informed him about even before he received it, so I drop shipped another to him at no cost. When he received the unit emailed me telling me that there was a problem with the motherboard and that there was no video or audio. He asked me if he installed a mod chip if it would fix his problem. I informed him no, and not to touch the motherboard so we can get a replacement. Because if you modify the board it will not be covered under any replacement guarantee.

He then emailed me back saying that he already had installed a pin header on it. Why someone would ask me if they should install a chip, after they already have is beyond me but then it hit me what he was trying to do. He knew he screwed up his board, so if he could get me to say, yeah go ahead and chip it then it would be on me. I had a problem with this person on a Xbox mod that he tried to blame on me too. He removed his 1.6 mobo and installed into another machine and smoked it. Then tried to push it on my controller ports that I put LEDs in, then tried to push it on the SmartXX Chip I installed, when the problem didnt happen until he took it out of the native case and put in a non 1.6 case. He filed a pypal claim on that one too, but was denied for now.

So today, I get 82.00 of my money held in escrow while this gets investigated because this spank wants to be a smart ass. Note: He also asked me to lie to his credit card company and say that his Xbox just died for no reason. I have all his emails and plan on using them if he wants to pursue this any further.

I truly do not believe in flaming anyone, and that is not what this is about. This is a just warning to those on this site who do business with people on this site. If I can fall victim so can you.

Here is what I got from PayPal today:

So, if he is willing to call me a thief for him ruining his motherboard, what would he do to you?? Who knows. I for one am appalled at these actions. If anyone chooses to do business with him, I would only do it on a purchase basis, I would not sell him anything. I know there will be people that sing praise for some work that he has done for them, but this is not about cases he has painted, or jewels he has made. This is about the disrespect and outright lie that he has proclaimed to PayPal and has caused funds of mine to be held. That is just so wrong on so many different levels. He has no integrity whatsoever. I prefer boycotting his site altogether and plan on informing as many people as I can what he has done to me.

I am not defaming him in anyway. This is not a personal attack on him. This is just me letting everyone here know how this company does business.

Well, just got word from a friend of mine that over 250.00 of money is being held in their account to for him doing the same thing.

Am helping them now with getting this resolved. I would just stay away from this company altogether.

I purchased an upgraded Xbox system from TheModGod.com on Feb 10. I purposely informed Jeff before the purchase that I painted Xbox cases and planned to put this in a painted case. I specifically asked if there would be any problem with swapping cases. I have every email saved for reference because I thought this may become an issue.

Seller’s response:
"do the swap and power it up. If it doesnt turn on at all. What I mean is you press the power button and it's as if it's not even plugged in, then you know you blew the resistor".

No mention of a possible blown motherboard or rendering the Xbox useless. After the swap no power, so I shipped back to get the resistor replaced, which did not fix the problem. 3 weeks after purchasing, I got a dead Xbox back and was told to purchase another motherboard and power supply, which took 3 additional weeks to receive and the power supply was not sent, dragging it on an additional week.

I ordered the replacement motherboard from the seller on March 10, which was a dead board upon reception. This time I was told by Jeff I would have to take it up with the place he purchased it from, which will not respond to my inquiries. I tested the board and informed Jeff of the problem within 10 minutes of the package being delivered, no time for a chip to be installed. Jeff insists I had put a mod chip in the second motherboard, but I NEVER did! I was not told a bad PS was shipped I was told "they shipped it to the wrong address".

Jeffs last response to this issue:
“Jesus, anything can happen to F*cking electronics”

I have had problems with 3 out of 3 Xbox's purchased from themodgod.com and so has a friend. I do not plan to make any more purchases from him! I feel the second bad motherboard & Power Supply were sent as a means to avoid me disputing the original charges, Paypal only allows 45 days to dispute any issues. Jeffs last email to me was profane and I am only doing this as a last resort to be compensated for over $340 spent on a $129 Xbox.

I never asked Jeff to tell my credit card company it was dead, I simply asked if it could of happened during shipping. "The Friend" is the same incident.

Take it how it is.

Yes, now this company is trying to defraud me out of money. Here is the letter I received today. This is for the mod that he purchased and nuked when he swapped the motherboard out as TheModGod described.

And there is another for something else that he purchased.

This is not even TheModGods account any longer and now it's causing my rent check to bounce. Luckily, TheModGod has all the info to get this handled but is still going to cause hardship for me.

I am looking into see how I can file a civil lawsuit against him, as I do not see that he is incorporated so I will have to sue him for this.

I called him and he said, yeah, I know it wasnt fraud..but my cc company only gave me two choices so I chose fraud.

Thanks Shawn, you're a real stand up guy. Your family must be proud of what a nice honest person you are.

Remember, what comes around goes around!!

Hey Shawn,

You blew 18 resistors when you made the swap. NOBODY could have predicted that. You're a real piece of work.

Now you are trying to get money for product that you received and damaged at you own hands. Regardless of guidance you must take responsibility for your own actions. And now you want to report FRAUD??

And no, you werent told they shipped to wrong address. You received a mobo and a bad power supply. Then they shipped you a good power supply. Here is the email from where Shawn informs me he already put a pin header on it. How many modders here would put a pin header on a bad board after they test it?? I would like to know...anyone here??

There was definately a chip on this board before, there are 2 signatures on the mobo. I installed the pin header but was waiting to hear back from you to pop it on & do the D0 wire. Should I leave the pin header in or remove it?

Man, this has been one expensive box!

Shawn

Have you done anything to the mobo yet? You haven't installed any chips on it have you? Please do not install anything on it. A chip will not do the trick if there is something up with the mobo.

I will contact Bill at the warehouse immediately. I will have to get your a replacement mobo, but if there is any evidence of a chip being installed they will not take it back. I wouldn't even try doing anything to it because they will just blame us for screwing it up. Bill is a good guy and I have got a few bad boards out of the bag from him before, and he has always replaced it with no questions asked. I'll let him know this is a dead board. Hold on to the PS though.

Just ship the board back to me and I'll ship it to him. I'll have him drop ship you the replacement though.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I got the PS 5 minutes ago & unfortunately I think the mobo is bad. It powers up but no audio/video.

Any suggestions? I have a few smartXX lt opx chips. Would a chip install fix the problem?

I'll take a look at those pics asap.

Here's a good rule of thumb. If they have two rows of pins, for the power supply to connect to and the Conexant chip then you are looking at a 1.2 or 1.3

If it has two rows, focus chip 1.4 or 1.5

If it has two rows, Xcalibur 1.6 or 1.6b

If it has one row with two fans, 1.0

If it has one row with one fan, 1.1

You have to use Mambo templates with the Mambo CSM. They also have to be specific to the version of Mambo you have installed. You do not have to pay for the modules, they are free. Mambo is free open source so you should never have to pay for anything, except if you hire someone to do work like I did.

How much are those LED rings again?

thats cool with the jewels & rings. I just didnt want to start handing out your 1/2" & then you want them & me not have enough. I will be getting the 3/8" as soon as I sell some of these damn rings.

Seven boxes?! I am lucky to do 2-3 per week. Most people like the mods but dont want to pay the money for them. And I got a dude that will only let me do LED mods. He think MS can find out if you modded & can come search the contents of his box & fine him $250,000 for each game...lol

I downloaded the standalone mambo server this weekend & tried to do some things but it kept freezing my computer for 3-5 minutes at a time so I removed it. I am not sure if siteground.com will do setup for me. I found template, but I was wondering if you need specific MAMBO templates. Also, are the modules free, or do you pay extra for them?

I got these 4 mobos, that supposedly all power up. Can you tell by the pic what 4 versions are there?? The 2 with fans on the heatsink look to be 1.0 but not sure on the other 2 (they look to have to 2 row connection). I will need to get the 4 applicable PSs from you this week. Just let me know what you want for 4 & I will paypal asap.

Shawn

So what you are saying Shawn is you knew you may screw your board up so you figured you would ask me a basic install question so that when you do screw it up you have someone to blame??? Man, you are getting lamer by the minute.

Here is the email where Shawn admits to ruining the board doing the swap. And the only real problem he has ever had was a Xenium Ice mod chip that went bad on him. I didnt design the chip Shawn. You didn't pay for a replacement chip either. You're a real piece of work. So basically you are trying to report fraud to three charges that YOU initiated because PayPal wouldn't let you file a claim after so many days for defective merchandise. And yes, you did ask me to lie to your CC company. But I wouldnt' do it for fear of charge back. Bottom line is you are untrustworth and conniving. You use programs that are put in place to protect people who truly get defrauded in effort to ASmile Steal money from those who have earned it, and BSmile recoup costs incurred by your own destructive hands.

I have just forwarded all of the correspondence to the person who also is out of money because of you. Lucikly, I keep all my records and emails that I deem important. Also, FedEx just gave me proof of delivery, so your fraud claims are going nowhere and have only accomplished two things.

1) you annoyed me

2) you proved your worth to everyone associated with this site by your actions and have gained an ememy in ME. I will do all I can to see show people what you are all about. There really is no description for what you are, I just cant think of the correct word...

Also, now I am getting mysterious orders from modding companies all over the place..

hmmmmm wonder who is placing these order ???

Luckily, they have the IP addresses from the origin of the orders.[/

This is the lamest ever!

You cant admit you gave shoddy information, so now you make a new login & make up some new problems to throw in the mix.... sue me. flame me. whatever.

Jeff, where are the emails where I asked you to lie?

I think you are missing the whole point. Your incorrect information lead to the original sale, which lead to a string of BS charges. That is FRUAD!

Bogus username, look at the name on the claim dumbass...

There are two people now involved with this. Since you are filing claims against me for information, go ahead and file a lawsuit against TeamXodus who wrote the 1.6 resurrection guide that I got my information from.

So, if I tell you that by putting sugar in your gas tank it makes your car go faster, am I responsible because you do it?? NO. I gave you information based on my experiences and what I had in front of me. I cannot be held responsible because you screwed up your machine...plain and simple.

I am sure that more than one person will AGREE!! You go and call your CC company and file fraud charges against three transactions. Yet, you openly admit to receiving and damaging them whether it's based on information or not, you admit YOU damaged them.

Shawn, really man, how stupid are you?? I thought you were smarter than this, I really did. And now, you are ordering products under my name to be shipped to me?? What is that all about?? You dont think that the shopping cart/ordering systems do not record IP addresses?? I guess I was wrong, you are stupid.

I would like a show of hands here.

How many people think that the person giving advice should be responsible for damage that someone does to their personal property by their own hands... so, in other words, all the tutorials we have written here should make us liable for claims?? You are mental man...totally mental.

You can argue this point with me till the cows come home and the only thing that is going happen is you are discrediting yourself badly.

Drop the bogus claims and save face. This website can provide a plethora of business for you and all you are doing is proving my point. You are untrusthworthy. You are insulting my intelligence and everyone else's associated with this site if you think that we will be held responsible for advice that we give you....

Ridiculous.

The emails went as an attachment to PayPal... besides, who gives a rats ass about that. That is a needle in the haystack and just a small part of this whole equation. Also, DJB had spoken to MsSheesh on IM on many occasions. Just because she doesn't post much doesn't make her NOT REAL. Well, then again, in your head anything is possible.

BTW, just so you know what FRAUD is

# ntentional deception resulting in injury to another person
# imposter: a person who makes deceitful pretenses
# something intended to deceive; deliberate trickery intended to gain an advantage

so what you are saying is, I specificaly told you about the possibility of blowing a resistor, so that you would do it and blow the resistor, along wth 17 others!!!

You see, that doesn't constitute fraud. Now, if I would have had every piece of xbox motherboard knowledge in my head, and knew that by making the change something bad could happen and I wanted to defraud you I would have said, sure Shawn, do it NOTHING can happen.

But, that isn't the case.

As I look at the true meaning of fraud, it fits you much better than I.

After all, you are the one filing bogus claims with your credit card company. Your parents must be proud they raised such a fine lad.

Thank god for PayPal having programs in place to protect it's members: My money has been released back to me as I proved that product was ordered and no Fraud was involved..... on my part anyway.

Email From PayPal:

Thank you for your prompt reply to our request for additional information
concerning this transaction.

We have reviewed the transaction in question, along with the information
you have provided, and have determined that the transaction does qualify
for the PayPal Seller Protection Policy. We have cancelled the temporary
hold placed on these funds and they are once again available in your PayPal
account balance.

Your cooperation and patience is appreciated. Thank you for choosing PayPal
as your online payment provider.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,
Erica
PayPal Chargeback Division
PayPal, an eBay Company

I have learned a lot about what PayPal will protect you for, and what they won't. Advice to any modders out there. ALWAYS get a tracking number. Save your emails, espeically if a product was not ordered from a shopping cart. From now on, just in case I am going to have to run all my sales through my cart so there is an order number. Even though I was vindicated, this defrauder almost got away with product and cash.

Thanks, and I also thank the others who have PM'd me and/or emailed me on this. It actually woke me up a little. It truly shows that you have to cover your ass no matter how good of a relationship you have with someone. I would have never thought in a million years he would have done something like that.

Anyway, dude.... I played doom 3 tonight on my big screen, in the dark with dolby surround headphones...

OH MAN... freaky!!! I caught myself jumping at times. Very cool game. I only got to play about twenty minutes as I have to get back to work. My comcast broadband has been freaky all day. Right now, HQ is the only site I can even pull up. No email client, nothing is working. Sucks.

Catch you later man

Kewl.. definitely!! I"ll see about running a cat 5 line out to the big screen tomorrow...god I got to get a linksys wireless G gaming adapter. I miss my wireless setup.

I was playing it again tonight...dam, I keep jumping when shit comes out at me. I get all tensed up and shit when I play this game. When I get off my couch you can here a pucker noise from my ass popping off the cushion....lol.
