Hey everyone, not sure if this is the place to put this but here goes. Okay I made a huge mistake, so I think. I did a softmod and had Evox on my machine and wanted to try out Avalaunch and renamed the eboxdash.xbe file hoping to disable it and it would load Avalaunch but of course it did not work. Now, when i turn on my xbox I can play games but I have no dashboard. I cant access my HD cuz it is locked and I cant unlock it cuz i cant get the password. Have been searching for 2 days straight now and there is no way so far to fix this. I figured I would just put another HD in the box but it seems I will need my xbox hd unlocked . I have the all the files of the hard drive backed up from a friends xbox HD but I dont think i can use it. If anyone has any ideas how to fix this I would really really really appreciate it. I even installed linux on my PC (dual booting xp and debian) just to test a pass generator which doesnt work without the pass. I just need a way to rename two files from blah.xbe2 to blah.xbe. Is there any hope any ideas? Tried some boot disc but no luck. really tired and have a lot of homework to do but i cant stop trying to fix my box TIA for any help.

can you ftp to get the password or better yet download slayers evox 1.5
iso it and run it in your d drive and get your password that way that would probably work the best _________________ Xbox Version 1.6

Error 16 - dashboard - Other files to do with dashboard / dashboard settings (specific dashboard error)
I created a slay disc but it didnt boot it. I think it was cd-r though instead of rw will try it and let you know. Anything else you might think of?

after waiting the 20 min for the cd to burn it does not boot. Its samsung drive, memorex rw, did not finalize the cd, burned at 2x. Used nero to burn, did record image to burn. so sad.
after doing a lot of searching, anyone have some comments on this fix?
