I jsut got my box modded with a Xecuter 2.6. I have been running avalaunch and trying to learn. In the settings there is an option to update the program itself. When i do so it does the downloading, then goes xbe is updated. Then when i recylce the box and run avalaunch it jsut sticks. Now i also used the same program internally to update to the latest XBMC and it worked without a problem. Any ideas? I am rather a newbie and learned alot. Any help is appreciated.

hi amag and welcome to HQ! Smile

Ok. I had this exact problem myself with previous versions of AVALAUNCH.. I thought they fixed the errors though. What version of AVALAUNCH are you running.. if your not running the latest then upgrade using the HQ AUTOINSTALLER or download by itself.

When i used the Internet Update option it worked and downloaded everything but then froze too.. When i upgraded to a newer version and tried again it worked fine.

Thats a good idea.. The AIDeluxe is one of the most useful tools available for your modded xbox..

To upgrade to a larger hdd is simple.. Just download and burn the HQ Auto Installer Deluxe to a DVD-R or CDRW and boot it in your modded xbox before you upgrade the hdd..

If it boots ok then you know you can change out the xbox hdd with a larger one..

1. Open your xbox and remove the retail (smaller) hdd and replace with a new larger hdd.. Just make sure you have the exact same jumper settings on the new hdd as the old retail hdd.. Smile (normally CS-Cable Select)..
2. Once you have the new hdd installed just connect up all the cables and boot the xbox with your modchip turned on and the AIDeluxe in the XBOX DVDROM drive..
3. It will boot to the main menu just like before and you can choose to FORMAT/PARITION and reinstall everything or anything you like..

very straight forward.

IF YOU HAVE A SOFTMODDED XBOX (NO MODCHIP) THEN YOU CANNOT USE THE AIDELUXE TO UPGRADE TO A LARGER HDD. THE SOFTMOD METHOD IS MUCH MORE DIFFICULT!

hope that helps

cheers,

Doesn't AID install Avalaunch as named evox, if it does this is the problem because when you do the dash update it re-installs avalaunch as avalaunch.xbe, oldadsh.xbe. When you reboot your xbox it boots the old avalaunch then relises their is 2 dashes and freaks out.

I like avalaunch so I did the following

reworked my bios so it boots avalaunch.xbe from F drive

modified avalaunch.xml to add the following items in the main menu. Other dasboards, game shark(use this app to use evox game trainers from within avalaunch and unleasshX),

Modified evox.ini to the same as above

modified unleashx's config.xml to same as above

Installed Avalaunch, evox, and unleashx all in F:/ not in apps and left all with original names.

Both avalaunch and unleashx can both be upgraded online with no clashes
