OK, post your help questions here.
Two things to remember:
1) Read this forum thread here which explains how to use it: SID 2.0 Information
2) Some Action Replay cards may not accept the gamesaves, I don't know why but all I know is that it's the newer Action Replays that are affected. If your Action Replay fails then try and use an official xbox memory card instead of the memory card sent with the action replay.

This may seem like a dumb question but what does the Patch MS 5960 option actually do? Can you manually fto into the box, once Evox is installed and install MS 5960 manually renaming this dash to msdash.xbe?

The "Patch MS 5960" will only work wih the latest dashboard, which is on xbox 1.6 and up as stardard.
If you don't have 5960 on your Xbox you'll have to install the softmod to boot AID, delete all the files off C Drive (I don't know if the format function will actually work or not), and install the MS Dash from that, which is dash 5960.
Once that is done boot your game again to run the softmod, and once the softmod is done THEN you can use the Patch MS 5960. This will create the file msdash.xbe which is your MS Dashboard.
Hope that clears things up a little fo ryou...

I have the latest dashboard MS 5960 on my PC. I have already installed the softmod, can i now ftp the latest dashboard back over to the xbox? Obviously xboxdash.xbe already exists, so i can rename the MS 5960 to msdash.xbe. Will this work?

Nope, what you have to do is when you have FTP running between your xbox and pc, delete everything off c drive (yes even the softmod) and install ms dash 5960 there.
Once that is done, make a backup of your c drive, install the softmod, then run the ms 5960 patch.
It should all work for you

No you won't be able to run Xbox Live because your xbox's C Drive has been modified with a softmod. Xbox Live can probably detect this and automatically ban you.
If you wan to play online cames may I suggect XLink or Xbox connect.

If you want to play on xbox live, just restore the ms backup and remove all the sid files. Ive been doing this a couple days with success.
P.S. Awesome job on the new 2.0 release

Hi, Using Mechasault I was able to start up the menu and do a backup, patch and dashboard install. But then when I tried to boot I did not get more than the xbox logo with the text microsoft under it. I tried both evox and unleashx dashboards with the same result. Using the filemanager I was able to start up unleashx manually but I could not start the evox dashboard manually. The only thing I got was the loading screen. What am I missing?
I also tried the version 1.01 with the same result.

Sounds almost like you forgot to choose the install softmod option. You would have to do this before being able to run the hacked dashes and such. _________________

Well, I do have a SID folder with 4 files (open, close, loader, bios?)
That is the softmod isn't it?
And if I forgot to instal it shouldn't I then just get the MS dash?
But I think you'r right if you say that the softmod does not work for me.
The question is why?

Yup C:\SID should have open , close, loader and bios. BUT your xboxdash.xbe would be hacked to work with it. The MS Dash is deleted when the softmod is put on , and only restored when you perform the 5960 patch (which relies on the backup made of your C dirive that you must perform before anything).
This is confusing to me, as this softmod has worked on versions right up to 1.6b. There's gotta be something wrong that you've done on your side...

just tried SID v2.0 on a v1.1 xbox, works fine no probs @ all
A little question...
When updating the msdash, I contacted live service (without logging onto the service) to download the new dash.
Is my hdd now married already to my eeprom for live ?
i.e. will I be able to upgrade my harddrive and use live when I want to use a chip install in the future ?
