After you perform this mod on your computer, what are some of the things you would use it for?

I think it's so you can use usb peripherals on your xbox. But unless you run linux, is there a reason?

You can use a keyboard and mouse for Linux or just use a keyboard for modchip bios programs. I have a question, though. Can wires from a usb port be soldered directly to the motherboard (and not interfere with any controller ports)?

Well, I know for a fact you can soldier usb ports on to the mainboard without too much trouble as i have just finished instaling a FIRBEOPTIC digital output to the xbox..

Not sure if the usb you want to install would conflict or not but really im sure you rarly use the 4 controllers at once unless you playing halo online or something..

my ten cents anyway. lol
