hi, i'm a newbie here and i could use some help on how to softmod my recently aquired xbox.
i got a k: 5838 and a d:5960
what are my options?

hi, back again, i've just downloaded the UXE auto installer and could use a leading clue
the programer who made this patch is french, and the txt says that there r 2 possible ways to transfer the files onto ur xbox.
1- is ftp it to ur pc
2- memory card and action replay
i also have the action replay software, anda a flash usb drive ready to kick ass, but the first method gazed me the most.
is it possible to connect an unmoded xbox with a crossover rj45 to a pc and then send the files to the xbox?
Cause from what i've beem reading, that's only possible with a moded xbox, am i right?
help me out here dudes

If you have the action replay I would suggest you download the latest version of ltools and copy it to your memory card then, from the memory card onto your xbox.
You will need either 007 Agent Under Fire or Mechassault to do this, there is another game also but I can't remember what it is.
Basically what happens is when you load the game save from disc it runs ltools just select backup then install, in that order, reboot and your away you can ftp across to your xbox.
I would get used to using ltools before using ftp to transfer files because if you don't know what your doing you mess up big time, mind you it's normally recoverable by repeating the ltools install.

The trick with ftping is you would either need a gamesave that just loads evox, or ftp to a modded box and transfer through mem card to the unmodded one. So no you can't ftp to an untampred xbox.
I looked at this new installer, it seems pretty good, but I still prefer ltools over it, for the fact that it has many more options, and I have used it a lot longer.
Splinter Cell is the other game you can do this with, a few questions though:
Which game do you plan to use?
Which version xbox do you have?
Is this xbox pal or ntsc? _________________

The other game that you couple possibly use with the Action Reply software is Splinter Cell, an original copy, not a limited edition or anything. That's what I use when I softmod xboxs. Hope you can figure it out. It really isn't as daunting as you may think. _________________ XBOX v1.6c
