i just bought my xbox and didnt realize it was so difficutl to mod a newer version xbox. my roommates done plenty of them and got totally confused with the differences in the new motherboards. were just going to add a bigger hard drive but he said compared to the old motherboards, the jumper for to solder is missing. any one know of any diagrams or have any help they can give me .

i never knew you had to solder to add a hdd....
edit: oooo you mean to do a bios flash (which is not a softmod btw) one of my friends hooked me up with this pen thing that the fluid inside is conductive. you just use a toothpick and draw this line of the fluid between the points. no risk at all of frying anything

well he says hes was try to solder a jumpers together. this was supposed to make it so that i can upgrade my hardrive and play games from it with out using a mod chip. we got the info from xbox scene. i have the pix in front of me, but i cant find a direct link. ill keep looking

yea i have a TSOP flash on my xbox too but i have a early xbox so it was easy i thought it was do-able on a 1.6 but i am looking for a tutorial aswell and am not finding anything either :/

yeah im having problems looking too. ill be looking for the next couple of days so if anyone can help, please do so. if not looks like i might be getting the xecuter 3 mod chip, but i dont really have 60 dollars to spend

As of 1/10/05 it is not possible to tsop flash a 1.6. but you can soft-mod it.
Read the fist two link's by Krayzie.
Look's solid enough but this one issue would be annoying.

The game uses the same font files as the exploit (see question above) making the system crash.
To fix this you can install the new nkpatcher with virtual C drive. You can then change the virtual C to replace the retail fonts back and the games will work again without problems.
