Actually, it's relatively easy.
First, you just slightly bend the clips. You just need to push them a litte outward so you can get a tiny precision screwdriver pushed down in. Then, you just pop the side clip by using a prying motion. The side clip sometimes has a little solder on it so more prying is needed. I have gotten some that I didn't even bother trying to open, they had so much crap holding them together. But 9 out of 10 are super easy to open.
I'll be posting a full tutorial soon, hopefully it will help you all out.

no dremel needed.
I'll bet getting a complete tutorial up real soon. It will take you from beginning to end. Just up front, you will need:
3mm resistors. (
1/4 watt 100Ohm resistors (4)
Single Stranded Wire (26-28 Gauge
Precision Screw Driver Set (Target $5.00)
Wire Cutters
15Watt Soldering Iron
.022 Silver Bearing Solder from Radio Shack
Electrical Tape
Needle Nose Pliers
That should do the trick. I'll get the tutorial up with pics asap.

Yup, I use that and sometimes I have extra wiring harnesses left over from Xenium Ice packs. They are the external LED harness. I use those wires, tear apart telephone wire... there are alternatives.
The wire they sell at radio shack is just too darn fat. It's okay if you want to go with a 1 LED system, but if you go with two, three, or four LED's in each port it's just too damn tight.
