Anyone in the melbourne area be able to do this for me (obviously i'll pay! ), I have VERY poor soldering skills, so i figure it'd just be easier if i pay for parts as well as labour.
If anyone can help, just email me at
tomservo3k at gmail.com (you can even have all 6 of my invites!)
Cheers and i hope to hear fom someone

Here's what I can do for you. If you don't mind mailing me a set of ports I'll hook you up....
You will also have to pay for the return shipping.
I have green, blue, red, UV, orange, and Pink UV's. You don't sound like a pink type of person, lol, but if any of the other colors suit you I'll hook you up.

Or did you just want the ports??, taken out of the box, you may have to explain a tad more..
sorry bout that!

You're probably better off openning the system and removing the ports yourself to send out, MST3K (loved that show!), but if you're not sure what you're doing, get someone here to walk you through the process just to be safe.
TMG, I need my ports lit up now. Blue would suit me dandier than candy, but I kinda want to do it myself. Just curious: are the LEDs you use bright enough where they are visible even with a controller in the port (standard S controllers), or do they look better whan the ports are nekkid?

Well, I can send you a set of UV ports, blue ports whatever you want. And, if you want me to post pics on how to swap out then I can do that too.
It literall takes five minutes to swap them out. Each port is held in by two screws....thats it! Plug and play! _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Okay, I'll assume you never had your machine open before as I dont know if you purchased a premod or modded on your own.
Firstly, flip your case over and look at the bottom. There are six screws. Four under the rubber feet and two under the stickers, those are already exposed since your machine is modded someone had to go in there. This pic the feet are ripped off. Was a customers case.
Remove all screws and then flip back over so you can lift the top case off.
Once case is removed you now have three smaller torx screws to remove. They are in the middle holding the DVD chassis and HD chassis together, and also on both sides of the DVD Drive toward the front.
Top View of all three screw locations:
All three circles indicate where the screws are. Next two pics are the two screws hidden down toward the motherboard. They are on the left and right sides of the DVD Drive.
Now that those screws are removed, you can diso the power cable and IDE cable from the HD and lift that assembly out. Then, lift the DVD drieve assembly out. You will have the IDE cable still connected to the mobo so just pull the DVD power cable and IDE cable out.
Torward the front of the xbox you will see the controller ports (2) held into place by two scews for each port. Just take out those screws and then the ports will pull right out. Do not forget to disconnect the white port connector from the motherboard
Well, I hope that gives you an idea how easy it is to remove those. Then, you would just push the new ones into place, plug them into the motherboard and reassemble your xbox. 13 screws and ten minutes is all it takes to remove and replace both ports.
Here is a pic of what it looks like inside with the two LED's, resistor, two ground wires and power wire all done up. This pic is blow up, keep in mind these are 3mm LED's so there is only about 20mm of room in that bad boy.

Sweet tutorial. I was wondering how that was done.
Was there a kind way to take off the metal sheild? or do you have to get rough with it? _________________ -Scourge "Rx = +/_\"
