Now when I try to softmod I get the contact customer support error 13 with everything I try. I can FTP to the box but everything is read only so it won't allow deletion but it will allow renaming.
And what's stranger still... a previous attempts uninstall has created this endless folder which has eaten my xbox hard disk... /mnt/C/Audio/AmbientAudio/Audio/AmbientAudio/Audio/AmbientAudio/... and so forth...
I can't boot the xbox at all without a disk, it gives me error 13, but I can boot up Mech Assault which allows me to run emergency linux or the MXM ltools thing which attempts to let me install a UXE.
I need some help!!! Everything I've tried has now failed
What I think I need to do is get back to the msdash and start again, but my hard drive is read only... how do I over come that?

I am having basically the same problem, only I can't even FTP into XMX. My IP is set to static which I can not contact from my PC.
What is the fix you determined, and how can I select DNS so I can FTP to the box?

if you are plugged into a router then you need to change the settings to
