Greetings all. I have finally gotten my X-Chip working with M8 and every thing seems to be working so far except that I can't FTP the box. When I look at the system settings, it is showing at the top of the screen that I have EVOX +3935, then it says that my IP is 0.0.0.0. But if I go to system setup (still on my xbox) it shows that I have entered in the proper IP address (192.168.200.1) and the subnet is 255.255.255.0, and I have entered in the proper address into my laptop. BTW, I am using the Homer skin.
Any help here would sure be appreciated

It shows 0 when there is no active connection such as when cable is incorrect type or pc is not on, assuming that is sorted this is some info I found on the net while googling my own problem, it sorted it for me so hope it helps you:
If you want to connect a PC directly to your Xbox (i.e. *not* via a hub) you'll need to use a special 'crossover' ethernet cable.
PC/Laptop IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Xbox IP Address: 192.168.1.3
Both machines' default gateways should be 192.168.1.1
Netmasks on both shold be 255.255.255.0
Then from your PC, open up Internet Explorer and type in the following URL (but don't click on this one!):
and you should be able to browse your Xbox's filesystem at will.
If you get FTP permission denied errors, it will most likely be either because the filename is more than 38 characters long (including the extension) or because the filename has an illegal character (e.g. a comma) in it.
The above worked for me, this method needs a crossover ethernet cable. One other thing I did was in Windows I accessed the new connection (use control panel to edit its properties) so for its INTERNET TCP PROTOCOL settings the two DNS numbers matched that displayed by my evox dash when I click on SYSTEM SETTINGS.

Hi Dave.
Well, I am really not sure what I did, but I was finally able to FTP into the xbox. At first it was a no go, but then I must have made a change that I wasn't aware of. Anyhow, thanks for your help. Much appreciated. Now I just have to figure out what I want to with it I have two games that I baked up already, but I can't seem to get them to play yet. Still working at it though......

I'm also having similar problems with an x-chip. Got it all installed great and everything is working fine except that I can't FTP into it or (obviously) browse my network files in XBMC. I'm pretty sure that the IP settings are just not configured properly but I'm not QUITE sure what they need to be.
I'm using an X-Chip, v1.0 xbox with evox 3921 i believe.
I'm usually the wireless g gaming adapter for the xbox with a linksys wireless g router. What settings will I need to change on my pc and xbox. Will DHCP settings work because I can't seem to change to that option from within the evox dashboard.
If I try to use Flash FXP to FTP into it, it says it's connected then all of a sudden it says, "Operation Timed Out", so I'm not sure what's up. Any and all help will be appreciated! _________________ XBOX v1.6c
