I want to setup a softmodded xbox but am unsure how to do it... I have already modded a v1.1 with a Xenium Ice. I hooked up a new 200gb harddrive to it, copied all the software from my current 250gb drive to the new drive for a softmodded xbox. I then installed the UXE1.6 C and E files through the Xeniums built in FTP; but after locking and installing the new drive the dashboard is unable to unlock the new drive.... Do I have to copy the EEprom and Edit it in order to create a new locking/unlocking passcode?
Also would anyone be able to send me the new UXE software because for somereason i cannot download it from the VIP section (been trying for days)... Farrow099@cox.net

Ok I've been playing with this thing for awhile now and have conlcluded the following; The HDD Locking code is motherboard dependant and swapping the harddrive from xbox to xbox requires doing so in an Unlocked state... So now my problem is how do I get the xbox to boot the softmod with an unlocked harddrive? Is this even possible? Any suggestions?? Am I missing something???

You ar correct in that the unlocking is motherboard dependent. I don't know of any way to easily install in one machine, then put it in an unmodded box. You would ahve to be able to either replace the eeprom with the one you used to lock the hard drive, or you would have to extract the eeprom first, then change the eeprom of the one you are using to mod the hard drive.. One way may be to hot swap it, but I really don't suggest doing this. _________________

Ok I think if I hotswap I can get the HDD Locking Codes and then use xboxHDM to make a new drive out of the 200gb replacement... BUt would it be easier to just use the memcard method? Is there a tutorial around for this method so I know exactly what I need?

Ok I've decided that Hotswapping is a bad idea, heh..... I'm going to pick up an xbox mem card and use my modded xbox to tranfer the files to it... Is there an easy err somewhat easy way to upgrade the harddrive after I install the softmod package?

Just wanted to left everyone know how you fixed this issue. You used the eeprom from the softmod xbox on the modded xbox. You then put in the large drive you wanted, and softmodded it, and copied some games over. Then you locked the drove using configmagic with the softmodded xbox's eeprom.
This is just a simple list of things you did, could you possibly go into further details? And if I was wrong on anything, correct me?
