MS DVD Region-Free Patch not installing properly

I checked out the script, I've accidentally put in the wrong zipfile to extract from. What it does is extract a non-patched MS Dash file instead of installing the patched.

Solution:

1) Go to Tools, then to File Manager.

2) On the left-hand side of the screen, select D Drive (which is the Auto-Installer CD / DVD), and navigate to Shared, then Dash. You should see a file called dvdfix.zip there. Highlight, and select it by pressing A.

3) Select the xboxdash.xbe, and press A. It will give you an option to extract this to a location, so select it. Now you want to navigate back to C Drive (you will start off on your DVD so press on the .. characters at the top of the screen to navigate back to your drive letters (C, D, E etc.), then select C. Once you've selected C Drive, press Start. This will copy the patched xboxdash.xbe to your hard drive.

LynXBox Emulator doesn't install to F or G Drive when installed as part of the whole package

When you try to "Install All Emulators" for F or G Drive, it will put LynXBox on E drive still. I noticed this when browsing my E Drive today, and since I never installed it there I checked the config file and noticed it in both F and G installations.

Solution:

1) Install the Emulator manually by selecting Install Emulators -> Install to X Drive (X being the drive you want to install to) -> Install LynXBox. This will put it in the right direction

2) *OPTIONAL* Go to Tools -> File Manager. Select E Drive in the file manager and delete the Emulators folder completely if you haven't got any other emulators on there, or open the Emulators folder to find LynXBox. You can delete by highlighting the folder in question, pressing the Start button, and selecting Delete.

DVD not booting (Remove Intro Fix)

This could be several issues, DVD Media, Modchip not in properly, etc etc.

The best tip I can give is burn the ISO at 1x for DVD using the latest version of DVD Decrypeter, and verify it.

There has been some instances where removing the intro from the Auto-Installer has allowed it to boot, this is what this post is mainly about...

PLEASE NOTE you will have to use the Recreate tool provided with the distribution of Auto-Installer Deluxe.

Solution:

1) Copy the aid10.iso file to the Recreate folder

2) Run the start.bat file. Halfway through this it will prompt you to make any changes before continuing.

3) There is a temp directory created in the Recreate folder which contains all the files. Firstly, delete the default.xbe file. Then, make a copy of install.xbe and rename it to default.xbe. Now place it where the original default.xbe was.

4) Continue the Recreate program, and it will produce an ISO called aid10new.iso

5) Burn the aid10new.iso using DVD Decrypter at 1x w/ verify.

Problem with Avalaunch using Xbox Media Center from the Main Menu

This due to a badly assigned link, it can either be removed or repaired.

Solution

1) FTP the avalaunch.xml over to your PC using FlashFXP (or a similar FTP Client). NOTE: Keep a backup of this file before proceeding just in case.

2) Open the xml file with notepad

3) Near the bottom of the screen you will see this line:

<item name="XBox Media Center" path="E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe"/>

Now, all you have to do is either delete this file, or change the path to where XBMC is installed.

4) Once you've finished updating the xml file, FTP it back to the Xbox in the same location as you originally got it. Just overwrite the old one.

Dvd2Xbox not seeing G Drive

This program occurs when installing Dvd2Xbox to F Drive, it won't give you the G Drive directories to dump games or dvds to.

Solution:

1) Go to where you have Dvd2Xbox installed (should be F:\Apps\Dvd2Xbox) and FTP the dvd2xbox.xml file over to your PC. NOTE: Keep a backup of this file just in case

2) You will see these lines of code:

<dumpdirs>
<dir>e:\</dir>
<dir>e:\games\</dir>
<dir>f:\games\</dir>
<dir>f:\</dir>
</dumpdirs>

At the bottom before the last </dumpdirs> add this:

<dir>g:\games\</dir>
<dir>g:\</dir>

3) Transfer the file back to your Xbox, overwriting the original file.

Auto-Installer not installing xSnes9x Emulator properly on E + F drives

This bug would make install the emulator in another directory inside the xSnes9x folder, so it was like this:

E:\Emulators\xSnes9x\xSnes9x\

NOTE: This only happens when install the emulator seperately.

Solution

1) Extract the ISO using Recreate or you own desired tool.

2) Open the config.xml file in notepad

3) Look for these line of code in the config file:

E Drive install...

<List Text="Install xSnes9x" Sort="Off" Batch="True" Icon="D:\UXSkin\Icons\Emus\xsnes9x.png"><Item Action="UnZip" Arg1="D:\Files\Emus\xSnes9x.zip" Arg2="E:\Emulators\xSnes9x\"></Item><Item Action="UnZip" Arg1="D:\Config\Emus\E\xSnes9x.zip" Arg2="E:\Emulators\xSnes9x"></Item></List>

F Drive install...

<List Text="Install xSnes9x" Sort="Off" Batch="True" Icon="D:\UXSkin\Icons\Emus\xsnes9x.png"><Item Action="UnZip" Arg1="D:\Files\Emus\xSnes9x.zip" Arg2="F:\Emulators\xSnes9x\"></Item><Item Action="UnZip" Arg1="D:\Config\Emus\F\xSnes9x.zip" Arg2="F:\Emulators\xSnes9x"></Item></List>

now, change them to this:

E Drive install...

<List Text="Install xSnes9x" Sort="Off" Batch="True" Icon="D:\UXSkin\Icons\Emus\xsnes9x.png"><Item Action="UnZip" Arg1="D:\Files\Emus\xSnes9x.zip" Arg2="E:\Emulators\"></Item><Item Action="UnZip" Arg1="D:\Config\Emus\E\xSnes9x.zip" Arg2="E:\Emulators\xSnes9x"></Item></List>

F Drive install.

<List Text="Install xSnes9x" Sort="Off" Batch="True" Icon="D:\UXSkin\Icons\Emus\xsnes9x.png"><Item Action="UnZip" Arg1="D:\Files\Emus\xSnes9x.zip" Arg2="F:\Emulators\"></Item><Item Action="UnZip" Arg1="D:\Config\Emus\F\xSnes9x.zip" Arg2="F:\Emulators\xSnes9x"></Item></List>

4) Create the ISO

5) Burn
