So I have an old modded xbox. My buddy did it for me years ago. I used to know the thing pretty well. I knew what I needed to know. Did up grading with flash ftp and all that. The thing froze up in the middle of a game. Haven't really touched it since. I don't remember what we modded it with. I don't know how to get to anything at this point. I am getting a error message which I initially though was 16. And the fix was a to pull a perfectly good drive out of a retail xbox. Put it in. reset the clock. Nope. Now the other hard drive is no longer working. Error message on that as well. I have a 80 gig drive in the modded box. It has a bunch of games I would like to not lose. Any suggestions?

My first suggestion would be to download Auto Installer Deluxe and burn that to a DVD and see if the xbox will boot it. Fingers crossed it will! If it does, you should be able to install a new hdd. It depends on whether you have a modchip or softmod though.
