I have a fairly straight forward conundrum. Is there a way, perhaps some kind of program, application, setting, or command that would allow me to quit an Xbox game running off the HDD and launch the dash? I run EvoX right now.

Any dash or tool with this embedded? Preferably without having to run an Xbox emul on my boxes. I know there is a soak test command and other such controller button combo's. Anything that easy to close games stored by DVD2Xbox or in the HDD generally?

Alright I found something. In EvoX and UleashX there is a setting called IGR (in game reset)
which enables a preprogrammed controller command:
both triggers+back+start=EvoX IGR
both triggers+white+black=UleashX IGR
These are the only dashes supporting IGR I have found thus far, and these commands may only apply to EvoX version 3935.

Ah-ha that's all you wanted to know about: IGR. I thought you were interested in something more sophisticated like a XBMC script to give you a context menu option to allow you to quit to the dash.

IGR has been around forever and I'm pretty sure a XBMC or Avalaunch main dash support it too. I can't check that as I use UnleashX with XBMC as an app I'd assume with this set up its UnleashX's IGR facility you are using when quitting a game (or app).

I know there was an IGR problem with EvoX at one time and I think, for some reason, it was an option you had to enable/disable by editing the .ini file. But in later versions it is a main menu option.

It works fine but the real problem in this respect with the Xbox is actually that the games didn't have a built in menu option to quit to dash. I've never understood why that wasn't a standard requirement for games' developers by all console manufacturers.

The UnleashX IGR combo I use use: hold both L/R triggers + Back + Black. But L/R triggers + Start + Back I think also works with UnleashX.

Honestly I was interested in anything! I saw IGR in my dash options, but assumed it was just a game reset option. Also no actual execution combo was listed anyway.

XBMC has it as well eh? I haven't see it anywhere in build 1.1, was it incorporated after that version?

It would definitely make sense for all consoles to have that function but until PS3 and 360 for whatever reason it just wasn't on anyone's agenda. You would think that by the PS2 and Xbox generation. Even though the consoles were strictly to run games off of DVD-ROM's, you think developers would be interested in some kind of dash launcher other than the D drive eject button.

Then again, you would think they would be interested in using quality clock capacitors from the beginning and heat sink mounts that don't leave multiple millimeters of sliding room to smear your thermal compound when reinstalling them. Developers interests are odd, and they seem to get stranger.

Alright never mind this post, I was going to compose a script for XBMC with my Raspberry Pi3, but I got my hands on a cheesy knock-off mod chip that actually has IGR in the bios! Man I love the chip life! XBMC dash script-less at full throttle here I come.
