This is a 1.6 motherboard SID3.1 and a Seagate 120gb HDD. Everything works great except when I finished cloning and put all back together with this new 120 Gb Seagate it still only says I have 4.6gb free space of E:

If this has happened to any one before fill me in on the solution, it would appear that maybe on version 1.6 mobo's HDD upgrade is not possible?? Or have I fucked it up lol

Apart from using a very old SID version (the last one was v5.12 which often comes bundled with v5.11) you've done nothing wrong.

With the Xbox the C:\, E:\, X:\, Y:\, Z:\ and, if present, Virtual C (usually V:\) are all fixed size. 4.6GB free space on E:\ is very typical post softmod, enough for, at most, a couple of original Xbox games and some useful apps.

The remaining space on a 120GB HDD is allocated to F:\ and G:\ and, I think, by default SID3.1 formats it all for the F:\ drive. With a HDD that size no point in using a G:\ drive anyway.

However because I'm not sure that it does actually format F:\ it would be a good idea to use XBPartitioner v1.3, Chimp2618 (the latest update Chimp261812) or an AID disc to format F:\ just to make sure.

For simplicity I'd favour Chimp2618 or Chimp261812 if you can find it. Just install that in Apps and boot to its main menu and look for Format Extended Partitions (I think it is menu option 8 in Chimp2618). Use your preferred space allocation option from the choices provide.

This works fine for HDDs up to about 500GB but for anything bigger you should only use Chimp261812 or XBPartitioner v1.3 as they will format F:\ and G:\ using the correct cluster size option. If you don't do this then there is a danger that that drives' contents will corrupt later at some point.

Only thing left after doing that is to use your UnleashX dash and go into System > Settings and enable F:\ and, if you have chosen to use it, the G:\ drive there too. Save then reboot and File Explorer and the main dash, depending on the skin, will show the new drive(s) free space.

Whether it is divided or not expect the total to show up as around 100GB as C, E, X,Y,Z and VC may take up around 10GB and a "120GB" HDD, as you probably know, actual means 120,000,000,000B. In binary reality that is 111GB (120,000,000,000 divided by 1024(KB)x1024(MB)x1024(GB)).

Thank you for the excellent response.
I used chimp cannot remember the version, and I enabled but F and G but it does not show G so I will try and format them both again with crossed fingers!
Unfortunately I'm in the middle of installing this particular Xbox into a PC case I've been working on.

Didn't know my SID version was so old haha I'll be sure to try and find the latest thank you!
