Hi Guys
I have an Xbox with error code 12.
One day I unlocked the hdd, thinking this will help me solve a problem on another Xbox... long story short I was wrong and now both of them are stuffed.
I managed to retrieve the EEPROM back up, by connecting the hdd directly to the pc, and extracting it with Explorer 360.
I made an iso, using xbhdm 1.9, but every time I enter the command unlockhd -a I get the "linux cd not found error".
I also noticed that the hdd is not detected in bios, and switching between AHCI and IDE options, did not make any difference.
I am using a PCI IDE card, as my mobo does not have any IDE connectors.
What are my options here guys, do I have to buy and old PC to have this solved?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Using Xplorer 360, I can see 4 partitions on this hdd, they are numbered from 0 to 4. How do I know which one is C, F and E?
Thanks

For unlocking, see my post at the bottom of the following link.
However, I think you are going to have to find a computer with IDE support or cross your fingers and try to use an IDE to USB adapter. I'm fairly certain that there was a version of XBOXHDM that supported USB...or maybe it was designed to run from USB...hmmm.

I tried xbhdm 2.2 today, which works off USB stick, it boots fine, I can get o the lock hdd screen, but whenever I try lock it, it says "no drive found".
I think the main problem here is that my xbox hdd is not being detect in my PC BIOS, no matter what I do.
This is a must in order for xbhdm to detect the drive, right? I mean it must be detected in BIOS first?
I am doing all this while xbox hdd is completely separated from xbox, does it need to boot through xbox initially, and then hot swaped to pc, for xbhdm to work?
Thanks for your help!

XBOXHDM will work with locked or unlocked drives as long as they are detected by the computers BIOS and in the case of a locked drive, you can unlock it with either the EEPROM.BIN, master password, or the method described in the post I linked. The hot swap would only be required if you are unable to unlock the hard drive in any other way.
So yes, the issue is the fact that the drive isn't being detected. Like I said, you're probably going to have to resort to an adapter like the one linked below, or user another computer.
I should note that while I've had good luck with USB adapters, others do report them not working so well.
