I have a soft modded xbox, and a non soft modded box, whose disk drive is broken. Can I mod the second box, by transferring the mod directly?

If you wish to mod the second console, you could simply download the latest version of SID right here from xbox hq. FTP the appropriate files to your modded console, then transfer them use the file manager on your modded console to a USB or xbox memory card.

Do you own a xbox-usb cable or an xbox memory card?

This method would be simplest if you have a USB-xbox controller cable or an xbox memory card (3rd party should be ok).

I'll explain my situation to help you out.

I tried building my own usb xbox device. It didn't seem to work out. I went and bought 2 more memory cards as backups.

One of them was used and had very old softmod exploit files. I was able to mod my console using it and splinter cell original.

Once my console was modded I plugged in a blank xbox memory card. I then FTP'd in the appropriate updated softmod exploit files (ask if you don't know what those exact files are) to my console.

I then used my softmodded console's file manager to transfer the updated SID exploit files to my blank memory card, which was recognized as drive as Y or Z I believe. (If you plug in the memory card when the softmod console file manager is on a new "drive" will show up. That is actually your memory card and not a hard drive.

You then unplug your memory card with the softmod files. Plug it into a controller attached to your unmodded console and load the exploit game files using splinter cell, agent under fire or mech assault (whichever one you own, Splinter Cell original is best though).

Then your unmodded console has now been softmodded Smile

If all you want to do is transfer music to the unmodded console directly from a computer, only modded consoles can act as FTP servers.

One workaround would be to burn all the music from your computer to a blank cd. If you exceed 60min of music, you couldn't listen to them, but you can put more than 60min of mp3s on a cd as just straight up data.

Your xbox might then be able to rip the songs from it.

If you really really don't want to use your usb device, you could hotswap your unmodded console (which is a type of softmod), but it's a risky way of modding. You may have problems with the method.

Do you no longer own a usb device? Honestly I'd say you're better off modding the console to begin with. Then you can easily FTP songs to it.

If you dont want to mod it grab the XBOX Music Mixer PC app (its in the download section) it will let you transfer MP3 and WMA files via FTP to an unmodded XBOX.

And once again SPPV's knowledge transcends mine again. Thank you sir! Cool

Here's what confuses me though, I thought unmodded consoles cannot do FTP at all?
