As I said befire, the tutorials are not helping me. I cant find what I need there. The cable i made is done correctly but wont work. I don't have the Babylon file. I cant transfer saves to card to go to xbox. I installed Skype and the other person isn't helping me. I cant find xplorer 360 or whatever that is. And what about the xbox media center?? So many questions and im confused and no help.

i'll spell it out for ya shall i?!
1, plug the xbox pad into the computer and let it install itself...
if your OS demands the xbox pad drivers, you'll have to look for them online!
2, plug the xbox mc into the pad AFTER the pad is properly installed! (game controllers in "control panel" should show the pad as an entry if it's properly installed)
3, get "xbox-xplorer360" and use that to copy the exploit to the mc...
the GUI is required at this point....same if that sd reader/usb card worked!

and as for not finding "BABYLON"...i explained why in pm why i couldn't find it after you was too lazy to even look for the sid 5.11/5.12 package ONSITE yourself!

Look, I am a newbie at this and dont know exactly what I'm doing with it. I am truly sorry and don't mean to sound rude or disrespectful. I did find the sid installer on xbox-hq.com. when i search for items i on this site im not getting the results. I got the same results for the Babylon file as u did when I searched that's why I asked u about it. As i said I am sorry and hope u will help me. Maybe I dont know the search terms u use to find it?? I never moded anything before nd orobably shouldn't try this either but I can't find anyone local to me that will mod it for me so I'm on my own until then. I've looked for explorer 360 but cant find it I always keep getting xbox 360 results. I guess I was looking to find a good walkthrough with links to what I needed. again sorry. And i hope u can continue to help me.

thanks for the xbox driver but ive tried all the files and others and i can get my controller recognized on 2 computers one windows 7 and one win xp sp3 and as soon as i plug the memory card into the controller, it gives me a new device it cant recognize. the memory card. is there a driver for this?. i tried usbview and it lists as a microsoft integrated usb hub and a usb device it cant recognise?? action replay link i found is broken and mega x key doesnt do anything but freeze on me?

ok nevermind. i found a setup file of action replay 1.31 and installed it and went to device manager and clicked scan for changes and i found a USBIO maxdrive xbox and it installed and i opened action replay and it listed the memory card. lol thanx for trying to help but im sure ill need more. and thanx for the files you did help with. i also found a help topic on this site that gave me the idea http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-305.html i think im learning something. im gonna quit for the day while im ahead

ok sorry to ask, but ive obtained babylon and figured out how to join it and unzipped it. now trying to prepare for next step. reading the files in babylon archive and a little confused with it. do i have to pull the hard drive or to do the compile thing or do i not need to do that. and where am i copying my eeprom from? xbox? any suggestions?? i really dont want to screw it up or get stuck in the middle of it lol

okay, your "joining" bit on the archive is confusing me...
did you use 7ZIP and take it from the first listed file? (all parts together like this)
i assume you're using the mc softomd "sid 5.11" now?
if so, watch this clip, (ignore the part on googling for file "evolutionx/remotex" as it's already on the softmod you have in "apps" UNLX menu) on how to set up an FTP client to pull the eeprom.bin from the console AFTER you've run "evolutionx/remotex" on sid 5.11!
when you've dumped the eeprom.bin and FTP'd it off the console, extract the BABYLON archive and READ the enclosed documentation on what to do with BABYLON and where to put the eeprom.bin!
put eeprom.bin in the extracted BABYLON resources on your computer "C:/babylon/eeprom/eeprom.bin"...

i have to ask, are you upgrading the hdd?
if so, you'll REQUIRE no less than an IDE/PATA computer as most of the SATA computers won't lock the hdd, the task that USES that eeprom.bin! hdd is locked to the console it was built for, the eeprom.bin is a key and lock...DON'T lose it! retrieve it anyway and store it safe for future reference!

NO, you don't have to pull the hdd out of the console unless it's fucked/not booting or you just want to upgrade it!

ok i got my xbox softmodded but ive review lots of videos on you tube an even in the sid help file about ftping the eeprom.bin off to dump it and modifyy?? i can ftp in but i dont see the files on the drive. i did do a backup before the softmod though. can i please have some guidance thats a little clearer to me? also i did want to upgrade the hdd to a bigger one down the road but not at this time. and just to clarify about the babylon files....ithere was four files and i had to download a joiner program to make it the zip file to extract. i probably didnt to it right but i think i got the end result. i didnt try babylon yet either though!!

Yup you didnt do it right lol. You just right click o the .001 file and hit extract (use 7zip) and it will extract the 7z for you. You will end up with an ISO and a folder named PC. Burn the ISO to DVD-r at 8x (this is for use on the XBOX itself) pop it in and run it. Go to Tools-EEPROM Backup. Click on Create EEPROM Backup, then click Move EEPROM to E. Now you will have a folder called Backup on E drive, your EEPROM will be there.
For HDD upgrading use the CXBOX-Tools thats in the PC folder to extract the ISO, put the extracted folder on the root of your PCs C drive and click the Babylon1.exe (its in the PC folder) and follow the onscreen prompts to create a disc you can use on a PC to upgrade your HDD
