Just bought a version 1.0 xbox with the Seagate HDD and GPU fan instead of the heat fins. I simply got the power cord and composite cables. Already had controllers. Games I can get from usual places not to mention I have about 20-30 disks I own.

Gonna be fun to try out the RAM/CPU upgrade on this badboy once I buy a sacrificial xbox to scrap for its RAM chips. Or maybe I'll check digikey to simply buy the exact RAM chips...

check the clock cap, i bet its leaking, my 1.0 was the worst yet, i just pulled it. looks like oil all over in the bottom left opposite corner to the system fan.

and the gpu fan needs upgraded on mine, it makes horrible noise and cant be oiled. but i have a ton of those somewhere from pentium1 cpus.

Yeah this xbox was weird I tell ya.

Made an odd humming noise when powered on. When the seller and I were trying it out the console would power on the moment you plugged in the power supply.

But I messed around with it for a while. It seems good enough. The tompson drive was a little inconsistent about disks to read, but I can always swap in one of my phillips drives if needed. So no big deal.

And if worst comes to worst, I can scrap it for RAM chips Laughing
