Just helped softmod my friend's console and use autobuilder v5.1 to pop in a 250GB WD drive. Modding the world one console at a time FTW!

I went into unleashX settings -> storage and enabled G drive.

Then I moved emulators over from the E drive to the F drive.

Then I wanted to move the empty "Games" folder from E drive to G drive.

When I try to open the G drive in xbmc file manager it says

"Remote Share

Path not found or invalid"

When I try moving the "Games" folder from E into the G drive through Ux file manager I get:

"Error

Destination is not available.
Please select another destination."

Did I forget a step somewhere that's preventing me from being able to do anything with the G drive?

^^ strange you'd get a "remote share" related error...that's FTP/SAMBA SHARE (xbmc's FTP/SMB client, rempte share will be a networked hdd or computer hdd, it jacks the storage medium, no good for games though, just live media stream and copying)
......
have you tried UNLX filehandler?
should be able to work through that!
......
dig deep into XBMC's settings, it's possible the volume is write protected by dash setting?
save yourself the headache (at least for the point of your thread) and use UNLX's filehandler o do your copying!
seems a better alternative to anything else i've used!
your move! Wink Arrow
[edit] CRAP!
i got it wrong way round!
dig deep into UNLX settings...
if that still fails, use XBMC filehandler!
(goddamnit, i need to wake up) Confused Rolling Eyes

You have to format G first. Use the UnleashX format menu to format G, reboot the XBOX and you should be good to go

Ok I went to storage settings in UnleashX. I already had G drive enabled. So I set the "enable G drive" setting to "No". exit the menu. Reboot.

Then I go back to storage, say yes to enable G drive.

Then reboot.

When I go back to storage menu, g drive is enabled but under the status part of the storage menu I read "ng Orange/0.00 MB" For something like F drive say it's status is: "123,408.52 MB/115,806 MB"

I suppose I should ask this what do those values mean? Total space/space remaining? etc.

Not sure if 250GB WD hard drives aren't big enough to support a G drive. When using autobuilder I'm pretty sure it only asks about C and E drives and not G at all. Hence I need enable it in UnleashX.

Should I use autobuilder to redo the hard drive? Or is there something else I can try?

^^ probably THIS! (can't believe i missed it)
the values you see are in "bytes" totaling up to the final count! (b, kb, gb, tb, pb and so on! 1k = 1024 bytes 10 fold that number as you climb the units of measurement)
yeah, see if a FORMAT to the G:/ volume is possible?
you're seeing it present (you enabled it in UNLX settings)
the format password for UNLX is (no tab quotes) "Xbox"...
the format takes roughly twenty seconds for a full 126g!
other than that, i'm at a loss!
a rebuild seems a bit overkill but if i was going through the same shit after ALL avenues were explored then i may have to consider the same... Confused
.................
[edit]...UNLX displays the remaining volume capacity at the dash frontend...
to get both the "total" and "remaining" hhd/volume capacity is just view the "storage" options...

Hey Amiga,

Whoops. I forgot to FORMAT the drive. I simply enabled it before Embarassed

Thanks so much. Glad I had trouble with that step. Now I remember when I mod another xbox for someone.

Ok I'm still a little confused about what you wrote before about the space conventions in unleash x.

So when UX reports the numbers:

"x MB/y MB"

What do x and y stand for? Is x total space and y space used? or is y space remaining? x is always bigger than y it seems. Just wanted to double check.

(usually "X" means horizontal and "Y" means vertical)
in this case, "X" is total capacity and "Y" is used capacity!
(X vs Y)
i take it you've got full access to the G:/ volume now? Wink

I sure do!

Thanks for the tidbit of info on storage capacity conventions in UX. Good to know as I backup my games.
