I'm looking forward to create a library of game backups on my computer so I can burn them or copy them to other consoles.
FTPing (I use Filezilla) isn't very quick especally when going for sizes of xhundreds of GBs (and with my lame Inet lol).
I heard about a "crossover cable" but I never got into that...
I'm neither into XBOX apps that much; is there a tool that enables (halfway) quick transfer? And by the way how can one burn a game backed up to a computer? (Because you can't burn a game-folder?! but an ISO, right?)
So what I'm looking for is a quick and safe way/tool/whatever to transfer game backups from xbox to PC.
thx, everybody

FTP is the fastest way to copy files between Xbox and PC.
Generally you should do that with... crossover cable Or straight-through cable if you connect Xbox via router.
However, newer network cards can work also with straight-through cable in direct connection.

And is there any xbox app that performs FTP a bit faster or so?
Or doesn't it matter wether I use Filezilla or a xbox-based FTP client?
And my side question: How can I burn the games (once they are on my PC) to DVD (because they are no ISOs but game folders)?
Can one make ISOs out of these with any program?
I'd really appreciate it if somebody gave me clue on this, a recommendation on what to use in order to get a backup library.

You can make ISO from files with Qwix 1.01 or Craxtion or C-Xbox Tool.
You will get the fastest speeds with UnleashX. You have to set "maximum number of users" to 10, and enable 9 simultaneous transfers in FileZilla.
There is nice feature in Qwix - you can make ISO, directly via FTP (select "FTP folder", as a source).

And just so you know your speed via FTP will only be controlled by your bandwidth if you are using wireless internet (xbox wireless or PC wireless) Best way to do it is direct connect. Either hard line via router, cross over cable, or if your PC is on wireless or has 2 ethernet ports use a regual ethernet cable plug the xbox directly into the PC, click on its internet connection, go to properties-sharing. check off allow other computers to connect via this internet onnection. Set your XBOX to DHCP and get 10+MBPS with filezilla. With direct its pretty much hardware limited only

@MrMajst3r:
So you have to create the game ISOs BEFORE they are copied to PC?
And said programs do that, yeah?
I have another question regarding the whole thing.
In which form do you store your game backups:
Do you ONLY keep the ISOs on your computer so you can burn to DVD or the game folders used on the xbox to play the actual game, TOO?
(This question goes to everyone; I want to do as the others and not get "creative"/play the extra sausage...)
This is what drives me crazy because I think it is a good idea to have both backed up, don't youi think?
@SPPV:
This is VERY good to know!
I'll give direct connect a try (always went through the router because the xbox never got a connection when going though the computer because I missed setting said properties) when I am sure about which program/way I gonna choose.
@seriouslycgi1:
Never gave that a try.

Doesn't work. You basically get a polite "hey Dumbass this isn't an xbox"
For storage I triple back up. I have hdds filled with games a couple of 200 disc cases of games and all the best ones I also have on my xbox. Plus shelves of originals

SPPV, I will do as you said and double backup.
Which program would you recommend choosing from:
Qwix 1.01 or Craxtion or C-Xbox Tool?
So I can transfer the ISOs + the Game folders?
thank you

Thats a loaded question lol. CXBOX all the way, its an HQ app. Even if it wasnt made by my fellow HQ devs Id back it. An excelent app that I use RELIGOUSLY. Its rare a week goes by and I dont bust it out.
Also when it comes to backups use UnleashX Game Ripper dont use DVD2XBOX. If Ux isnt your dash install it as an app and use it. Many XBOX I buy are bundle deals and have games with em. Many were beat to shit like a rednecks wife, and even though DVD2XBOX chokes on em Ux rips em flawlessly. I also prefer the Ux patch system. With DVD2XBOX you have to revert to the orig default.xbe for it to work via disc, Ux its one xbe for all. I rip a game, FTP to my PC and burn. Boom it works. I do that with a DVD2XBOX game and it fails like Lance Armstrong at a dopeing test. For DVD playback Ux pretty much removes a step so even if it didnt do better rips, that would put it ahead for me.

I will stick to UX. (btw are there any additional settings to set?)
If we are at that theme:
As you probably know already I have a secondary console on which several DVD2XBOX-backups are installed.
If I go into Cxboxtools and want to create ISOs out of them in order to transfer them to PC, I have to restore the default.xbe_orig BEFORE creating the ISOs, right?
Do I need to "disable autopatch xbe." or anything in UX settings (I'm afraid that the default.xbe_orig after beeing renamed to default.xbe is fucked up , too, you know?)?
Or am I fine with just renaming the default.xbe_origs in said directories and then make the ISOs?
Please excuse if my questions annoy anyone but I want to be a 101% sure to act right before I get to fail... ^^
Thank you so much
