Is there anyway to MAKE a SATA To ide adapter for the xbox ? I have a SATA To IDE adapter but has female ide connection not the male with the pins, i would have to plug it into the xbox motherboard and somehow bypass dvd drive check then which i cant with a softmodded xbox. So I have an old computer mother board with 2 ide ports and the wrong adapter i bought, using these could i some how make a SATA To IDE adapter ? I know this sounds dumb but i cant find the right adapter anywhere and i dont want to buy one offline.

Deal Xtreme they sell the proper adapters. I did the same thing, ordered a bunch of adapters only to find I was in the same boat. But everybody I know uses the adapters off Deal Xtreme and swears by them and theyre only like $5. Without a reball station pretty much impossible short of some straight up duct tape MacGyver shit to modify that adapter to the purpose you want.

And just for the record, Ive been in the HDD end of XBOX modding since day 1 and I gotta say SATA is shit compared to IDE on the XBOX.
I know that flies against logic but with the adapter the read/write speeds are below what you would get with an IDE. This is why (and some other flakey screw ups like ghosting) I only use IDE HDDs on my XBOXs. Sure a 250GB sucks size wise against a 2TB but really how much space do you need? I can fit all my apps, skins and emus along with a butt-load of XBOX games on a 250GB IDE and still have lots of room to spare. Dont go all gungho for complete rom sets etc cause we all know on any system there were a load of shitty games. Just rock IDE (my personal bias) and cull the ROMS etc
