I've been wondering if I can make a component or hdmi cable from a original composite and of course another cable of a given type? I would like to take advantage of my hd-tv a little more and I can't find anything but original composite cables at the places that still have some of the old stuff. I'd appreciate any help that I can get like wire diagrams/scematics of each connector type so I can cut and splice. thank you.

Doing some searching around will find you a diagram of the connector so you can make your own HD cables, but I don't advise it.

I think 1.6 machines (maybe only PAL ones) have problems with HD. I have two PAL machines and on two different cables they both have purple shadows of everything on the screen. Seems the outputs aren't synced properly or something.

You can find the HD cables everywhere. I bought some very recently on eBay.

I can't find the pic I had anymore, but here are two links:

I tried to mod mine with the pic I can't find and broke it. However I could not find anything wrong with what I did, so I would also recomend buying one. I ordered one on Saturday, I will add the link for that as well. It is the cheapest one I could find and it is the original HD pack.

It is probably the connection at the back. That or there is a break in the wire somewhere

I see mine is also a bit fiddly. If it looses connection it restarts the console.

All the HD cables restart the console for some reason when they are plugged in.

My old HD cables broke in the ground line somewhere which meant that my picture was green and there was an annoying sound in the background.
