Hello and wlcome to the site.
The only way to find out exactly what modchip you have is to open your Xbox. The Evox logo is part of the BIOS, which is what the modchip stores.
If you have a reflashable modchip, I strongly suggest you get an Xecuter 3 BIOS. They can do absolutely everything. The only prolem for me is that you can't use FileZilla to tranfer over FTP because the X3's server is not a full one.
So what is your dash at the moment? If it is something like unleashx or XBMC, you can use the FTP in that to update XBMC. If you have EvolutionX dashboard, you can't use FTP because it doesn't support passive mode (essential to FTP, from my experience). That's why I really don't like Evox. (Just to sort out any possible confusion here, Evox is both a dashboard and BIOS)
To upgrade your HDD, you can do two things: burn a CD with Evox on and then format the HDD from disc; or you can use the X3 BIOS to format it. X3 is the easier option because you don't have to burn a CD and you can just press a button during startup which will give you a massive array of features.

Most likely your mod chip won't be able to use the X3 bios. Only high end Xenium chips and the Xecuter 3 chips can use the X3 bios if I remember correctly. Most likely your chip will only be able to handle the X2_5035 bios, which is a really good bios.
Although, I wouldn't really mess around with the bios. Download the Auto Installer Deluxe (AID) disc from here: www.aidtracker.com. You'll need a torrent program like uTorrent to download it. Once you have it downloaded, burn the iso to a dvd at 4x speed. Pop in your new hard drive and pop in the AID disk. Should auto format the drive for you and then you can install any dashboards, apps and emulators you want from there. Just make sure to read the AID manual before you use it if you haven't used it before _________________

wow, thanks guys for the fast help
So, i don't understand a lot of this but, my dashboard is the original one from xbox the default that comes with the xbox originally, the only thing i do to play burned games is press for 5 seconds the power button and the light on the button turns orange and red.
So let me see if i understand, open the xbox, change the hard drive ( not sure if empty) with my new one, pop in the DVD with Auto Installer Deluxe, and that is it ? x)
One question, what is the bios for ? Better bios more compatible with software ?
Thanks great forum and great people !

The bios is what the Xbox loads up at startup. Almost any modded bios (X2, X3, Evox, etc) is better than the stock bios because it allows you to use unlocked hard drives and to boot unsigned discs (ones you burn yourself). As long as you don't have an extremely old version of the Evox bios, you should be fine. The Xecuter bios's usually have more features than the other ones (you can change the startup, modify fan speeds in an ini file, etc).
Your procedure you posted is correct. That is all you have to do to put in a bigger hard drive.
You should probably also look at what chip you have when you open up the Xbox. If you don't know what the chip is you can take a picture of it and post it on here and we can tell you what chip it is. _________________

I'd say pop in AID and partition the hard drive. If it doesn't make a 137gb F:\ drive and throw the rest on the G:/ post about it here and we can go from there. _________________

So I installed the aid Deluxe IV, and in the menu in file manager it says that i have 7 partitions ( C: D: E: F: X: Y: Z: ) and in the FlaxhFXP it says that i have 5 (see below).
After the format the HDD and the installation i installed the XBMC in the Application Section on the menu of the disc, and in the emulator section i installed all too (but i am having some problems on the roms and the default place that they are, and sometimes they cant be found)
Btw, there is no problem in losing all the data because its very recent..
Thanks

I think you should be good. Sometimes FTP doesn't show all of the partitions for some reason. Just test it out again tomorrow and see if the F:\ shows up. _________________

Get the Enigma videomode switch app. I don't know where you can get it but it might be in AID lite.

If he does that he won't be able to see the TV screen since he will still be on PAL TV. I can't really remember how you play different region games on the original Xbox because I've never tried to play a PAL game. I'll have to do a little bit of looking around later when I have more time. _________________
