Could anyone suggest a cheap and quick way of getting Video onto a Monitor? It has HDMi, DVI, VGA ports and can go up to 1080p.
I once tried a VGA to Video adapter had no luck.

I think the only way you can do it is a video to VGA cable. I've never used one, but I remember people talking about them back in 2007.
Someone had a similar question to you a few months ago and we couldn't find any cables online for him. You may have a hard time finding a VGA cable for the old Xbox in 2011 _________________

for switching from the xbox video cable to vga you either need a special converter or an xbox rgb since thats the same protocol as vga. I looked into this a little while ago but in reverse. conecting a pc via vga to a roxio game recorder which uses component and rgb. be sure to check the specs unless it supports rgb it wont work. another route is wiring a vga port into the xbox but dvi is much better since vga doesnt support audio
