yeah I just bought this on CL with some original games just the disc's not on HD though.( i'll put them on there later)
well I want to delete the game saves alot of the games don't allow you to delete the saves when in the game. I heard that everything thats on the E: partition is just saved data and game addons(halo maps etc)
I want to basically delete it all is it safe and what are the names of the HALO 2 map pack stuff thats the only thing I want to save.
as for other info
:I don't know the mod chip in it
I think the original owner accidentally or on purpose deleted the original MS dash(unless I'm trying to boot it wrong I probly am)
the dash board on it is AVAlaunch not sure what version.
any help on deleting the game saves or booting to the Original MS dash board would be appreciated I'm a realy NEWB when it comes to messing with the xbox but I'm great with computers and its not that differnt but its differnt enough to make it so I don't know what to do?

What I would do first off is get the xbox opened up to see what chip you have. Always a good thing to know even if you don't need it for this.
Next, download AID from here: www.aidtracker.com. Burn this to a disc and pop it in your xbox. There should be an option to install the original MS dash onto your C:\ drive. _________________

I got a little question about the MS dash installer when I go into the C drive it already has other stuff in it some stuff are named bios and stuff. would the M$ dash maybe delete remove or possibly corrupt the existing stuff cause if so I'm going to have to find out how to back-up the stuff I want to keep.

It shouldn't affect it at all. However, if you want to be sure, you could always ftp to the xbox and transfer the files to your PC. _________________

FTP i heard of that somewhere could I plug it into my computer directly not using a router. or perhaps remove the xbox HDD and plug it into my PC as a secondary and then back it up?

Omg while exploring the applictations on it I found out that theres multiple dashes I can access threw BOxplorer and there were 3 other dashes ones Xboxdash-orig(it don't work)
Xboxdash(this one works looks just like orig dash though LOL)
Yboxdash(looks the the same)
I used one of the working ones and deleted all the saved games and I kept the H2 mappacks there were 3 of them and saved at least one gig of data!!!
