Is there a program I can use so I can connect to internet using the wireless adapter microsoft sold for the original xbox. I get no options to put in a security key so it can connect to my network. Ive tried hitting the unlock on my router when connecting but doesnt seem to work. Im using a Belkin 3 band router (B, G, N) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm pretty sure there is a way, though does the (xbox) adapter give you any options to change IP info?

I can set my IP in the dashboard settings or XBMC. Ive got no option to scan for wireless networks or input a wpa2 key if I set it to my routers IP

Hm, trying going to the MS Dashboard to see if the wireless adapter is being recognized. Maybe some option can be set via the default dash, sorry I haven't worked with the wireless adapters for the old xbox

When I click on network settings in the MS Dashboard it just returns me to the Evox dash.
Got it on my Unleashx one, in network settings in the MSdash ive managed to get it to scan for and find my network only issue now is its not wpa compatible so either I got to find a way to get it to accept a wpa2 key or downgrade my network security. Would installing a linux distro maybe help? Ive got lots of room on the drive (250gb Maxtor)
If I cant get it to work its no big deal grabbed it at a thrift shop for 2 bucks so its no big loss if Im stuck having to use a crossover cable or bringing my router downstairs to ftp.
Thanks for your help

I'm not really sure if installing a Xbox Linux Distro would help, maybe so but we might need the opinion of one of the old members to decide that. As I'm not to familiar with it, but are you trying to connect using a underground tunnel like XlinkKai or XBConnect? Maybe they have info on their websites.

Am I correct in assuming there is no "plug n play" method for connecting a PC to XBOX for data transfers. Ive tried a crossover cable and just cant get it to work on either Win7 or XP. Right now to FTP Im stuck unhooking my router and bringing it downstairs to hook my XBOX up which is a real pain in the ass. Ive tried powerline networking but its crap and keeps dropping data every game Ive transferred using it will not play after being burned to disc

If you run xbmc dash and set it to dhcp then set the router to dhcp with the xbox hooked up by a cross over you should be able to ftp.
In win 7 you need to make sure that network discovery is on and it helps to have the router option for upnp turned on any ware its available.

Any xbmc should work and with upnp and network discovery on the xbox should just show up in you network list so no real need for an ftp app.
