hi there been a while since ive posted for help here! i have an old xbox of my brothers which i modded some time ago, unfortunately the power supply is fried. i havent got round to cracking it open yet to see the damage, but hoping its just the power supply, my question is this:

can i put any xbox 1 power board into it or does it need to match up? if so what am i looking for? im kinda sure my brothers old box is a very early even version 1 ill have to double check! but thanks for the help as usually!

You will have to make sure that it does match with the version of the xbox. I think you know about versions from what your post said. Of course, if its a 1.0-1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, or 1.6a/b you will have to get a PSU that matches that version of the xbox.

Give me a shout when you want one, also, it might be worth checking the old psu where the power connector (the bit where you plug the power cable into) is soldered on, these sometimes break the solder joint with constant plugging in of the cable.
