So I decided to give XBMCID a try today, basically to understand how it all works and start afresh on an XBOX that I bought pre-modded and with XBMC already installed about 2 years ago. My XBOX is a v1.4 and has a MODCHIP fitted internally (I do not know which type), there are no markings on it to identify it.
I run XBMCID and did a Format of Drive E followed by a MODCHIP One-Click Install.
Upon reboot I am presented with the Microsoft XBOX Dashboard, and when I insert the XBMCID DVD I get the XBOX Logo with the Microsoft name at the bottom and I can hear the drive repeatedly trying to access itself.
I also downloaded and created an XBOXHDM CD, upon inserting the CD I am presented with e prompt advising that the XBOX can not recognise the disc.
I am not sure what I need to do to get back to a working dash.

Pop the top on the XBOX and post a pic and we can get started on getting it worked out.

It will not boot the XBMC Auto Installer disk that I used to originally cause this. I have just finished downloading AID 4.5 and will create one of these and give it a go...

Thanks to others it has been determined that the chip is an Akira Version 2.

So I have now tried an AID 4.5 Disk as well, with the same symptoms.
Those being that when the disk is inserted, after a few seconds I am presented with the Microsoft XBOX Flash Screen and then nothing happens.
When I eject the disc, the Microsoft DashBoard returns.
Thanks.

Does the modchip have a hacked bios on there?
You'll need that in order to boot either of the installer discs (AID or XBMCID)
