Posted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 4:32 pm Post subject: Wont read AID4.5 disc SOFTMOD but other xbox will ..KERNEL??
I have two xboxes Im softmodding and installing drives in, and I already have done one before previously. The disc Im using (auto installer deluxe 4.5) works on one xbox, but the other acts like the softmod hasnt quite all the files to run a burnt disc or the cd drive is weak..... I have the ms dash updated, but I notice the kernel is older than the other two that read the disc... this problem xbox was made in 2003... Are there any issues with the xbox after softmod, not reading discs??? (or not opening "hack" side of this mess)

try swapping out your drives with the other xbox that reads them. That fixed my problem.

if you look on the firmware sticker for the cd drive, the actual earlier model is the one i had trouble with, go figure... but yes, regardless of the kernel, the drive booted and ran my disc just fine. I guess they tried to make an unreadable "copied" disc protection in their firmwares..
