hi.....!
hope this is the right place to post this ,, im joan23 from the philippines and i am very much interested in reviving an old xbox i just stumbled upon a few weeks ago and when i turned it on it is still working ie. the xbox logo with the evox logo on the left side appears then a message "16 please call customer assistance" and i thought of opening the console i noticed an alladin xt plus2 mod chip with a red light on, i also noticed that there is no hdd on it, so i looked and found 1, for the meantime a western digital 80 gig hdd,, the problem is - i dunno anything about this, on how to install this hdd.. im thinking of putting up a movie or mtv videos on it and a friend of mine gave me two original cd games.. my dilemma is how can i put this altogether .....

If you already have a modchip installed the rest of what you want to do should be easy.
simply connect up the hard drive you have, then download Auto Installer Deluxe v4.50 , burn it to DVD-R then boot your xbox with it in the DVD Drive, use the `Hardmod` section to install a dashboard to your C/ partition then pick whatever applications and emulators you fancy.

sorry for the late reply took me quite sometime on getting to boot up my console on the auto installer deluxe thanks for the tip eg. "cdrw" hehehe now im in the process of putting up media onto it i guess there are specific players for an specific media for this console any pointers on how or where can i find these? also how is it then installed?
thanks!!! guess an old xbox can be of some use after all.... also how can this be all be installed in a child safe environment if and when i get this playing so that kids wont accidentally erase files i saw all commands in the dashbords eg. erase button can these be deleted or disabled?...
What dashboard are you currently running ? ...... XBMC turns your xbox into capable media player playing most formats, its on the AID disc, Either install it as your main dashboard or as an application you can launch from within whatever dash you use at the moment. _________________

hi again....!!!
im still at the process of getting to know the dashboards well im guessing that i would,, for now prefer the unleash x v0.38 (or if there is a newer version ? ) and i would wish to put also the media players and the medias itself but still dunno how,, im still trying to understand the tutorials and its quite challenging to a total newbie like me,, most i still do not understand how to do but one thing i have done as advised in an article i have read ... i bought a 320gig hdd to have all games and media installed into it... one article says i have to softmod it to be able to properly work but to date i still have no idea what is that ,,, ill still be looking for the answears and another article says i have to do some flash bios whatever that it means,,, guess ill have do more research on that,,,, i would appreciate it if somebody would link me to an easily understandable step by step procedure on how these things works as all the forums i read so far makes me confused more... the more i read the more i get confused hehehehe....

Hi,
Forget about the softmod for now, its just an alternative method of making your xbox do what you want, you have a chip installed, so no need for a softmod .. You are in a better position.
If you connect up your 320gb hard drive, then boot your xbox with the Auto Installer Deluxe disc it will detect the new drive and format it for you.
Use the disc to install a dashboard to the C/ partition.
Everything should be working ok, if your xbox only reports 120gb or so, then its time to update your bios.
Post back if anythings unclear or if you need a couple of pointers. _________________

thanks for the quick reply ....!!! ill be doin that today,, but how or where should i put the games, movies, mp3, and players for it? also iam not always around how can i prevent kids from erasing the files i uploaded unto it? i already know how to ftp also i learned already the #xbins/mirc ...

well im pleased to tell you all guys that i have learned a lot from this forums and i really do appreciate the replies and emails i got.... i now know how to do some tweaks in the xbox 1 i got it running all again and do some modification on my own likings... i really do appreciate it and i would find a way on sendin some donation have here already 40 usd but i have not yet found a way to send it cant seems to find a bank here suitable or capable of sending thru paypal (considering my location )is there any other way? and also would there be taxes and or fees to be collected?

btw. is there a way to lock or remove some features and or commands in the dashboards eg. settings menu, weather forecast function, file manager menu etc. so that kids in my house can only access games, videos and music files and play it without accidentally erasing media or game files or change settings like skins etc....?

i got an xbox from a friend` let me borrow it for awhile and i was impressed on how it was set up very simple guess its a unleash dash,it has no mod chip on it i guess it is softmodded and upgraded its bios, i was wonderin if i could copy the set up would it not harm my xbox since it has a alladin chip? or should i remove the chip first ?
thanks !!! could someone point me to the right direction on how or what is the best softmod application should i use and bios upgrade?

hi guys.....
i was wondering if someone here could direct to a link on how to put a new hdd on unmodded xbox1 i got a modded xbox and it works fine now.. but the other xbox i recently acquired from a friend,, it has no mod chip installed into it and everytime i try to replace the hdd none of my burned auto installers seems to work none was read by the unmodded xbox but when i connect again its hdd it can read the auto installers cd i am confused on why is this possible is there a settings i should put into the new hdd for the unmodded xbox before it can read auto installers? how can this be done ....?

what softmod installer? is it all already included in most of auto installers like auto installer deluxe and xbmc auto installers? in my case i cannot access all of it, whenever i put a new hdd on a unmodded xbox but however can access it, when i put back its 320g hdd (wondering what is it in this 320 hdd that makes the unmodded xbox read or boot from the dvd rom first?), is there a stand alone softmod installer which will run on unmodded xbox with a new hdd? ... i guess the right question is - how to revive an unmodded xbox with new hdd?
Hi,
For your unmodded box to read the Auto Installer Disc it needs to be modded.
Without installing a modchip your easiest option is to soft mod it.
you need a memory card and a copy of either splinter cell, 007 agent under fire or mechassault.
Insert the memory card in your modded xbox and use the AID disc to install the softmod files to the memory card.
Insert the memory card in your unmodded xbox and copy the files from the memory card to the xboxes hard drive.
Run the corresponding game ie: splinter cell, mechassault or 007 AUF and click on the `Linux` profile, follow the onscreen prompts to install the softmod.
Reboot and you now have a modded console without the use of a mod chip.
If you want your 320gb hdd to work with your softmodded xbox you need to run an application called `Chimp` on the softmodded xbox and use it to clone the standard 8gb hdd to the 320gb one. _________________

thanks for the reply,, i am trying to do what you have suggested... but the problem im trying to resolve now is,, where the heck can i buy any of those 3 games? ive been trying to find one in all of the buy and sell network here in the philippines but no luck yet,,, been browsing the net for almost 16 hours now i found only 1 possible seller and i am still trying to contact him is "SplinterCell Stealth Action Redefined" will do? if not is there any other way?
next in my list is a usb stick to xbox controller hack but i still cannot find a a picture showing how to solder it i already have a usb female plug and a 2gig kingmax usb stick, will this do?
