Hey all. I'm attempting to Softmod my Xbox on the cheap. I spliced the controller cable and hooked it up to a USB cable. I successfully installed the XBCD Gamepad software, but I'm stuck on getting Action Replay to recognize my memory card. I modified the AR driver file with the vendor id and product id of the memory card, but Vista will still not recognize the driver for the memory card. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Did you try running the AR software in compatibility mode?
you could use the Action Replay software as Wes says, or try xplorer360 - Its easier to use than the AR stuff. _________________

I tried xplorer360, but no dice. I think the problem is vista does not recognize the memory card as a storage device.
Wes: Does Compatibility mode = Test Mode? If so, than yes, I'm under test mode.

Compatibility mode is done by doing this: Right click on the program and click properties. Then click on the compatibility tab. Then turn compatibility mode on and set it to windows XP SP2. Click ok and try that. _________________

Used compatibility mode with AR and still does not register memory card.
The memory card is from Microsoft.

i had the same problem with windows vista with AR, so i switched to xplorer 360, the memory card has to be formatted as a fatX partition for the xplorer 360 to recognize it

Sounds right. How do I format the memory card if Vista isn't recognizing it as a storage device?

the xbox should automatically format it when you insert the device

I used the memory card on the Xbox without a problem and then connected it back to my PC. The PC is still not recognizing it.
