Post subject: evox dashboard problems??

I am having problems with my mod chipped xbox, it has worked fine for years but recently when I have turned it on I get 5 options.
1. MS dashboard
2. Reboot
3. Power Off
4. Settings
5. Backup

I have tried clicking on all of them with no success in getting to my evox dashboard. Unfortuanetly I don't know what version of evox my mod chip has as I did not chip it. I don't know what to do, any help would be greatly appreciated as no one seems to have had this problem that I can find?

Hi Robospecta,

Sounds like you need to download the HQ Auto Installer Deluxe - http://www.aideluxe.com

You can burn AID to a DVD-R/CDRW and boot in your modchipped xbox and it will allow you to reinstall whatever dashboard you choose. Try it out and let us know how you go.

Since you have a modchip fitted it will be so so easy for you.

cheers,

hobbs

No you didn't! Also Just wondering whether it is possible to FTP a soft mod onto an original xbox as I bought my brother has one and he is wanting to get it softmodded? I have FTP'd modded halo 2 files I made to my xbox with Flash FXP but is its possible to FTP an evox dashboard and programs to an original non soft modded xbox.

You will need to mod your brothers xbox either with softmod or modchip before his xbox will be able to run un-signed code.. eg. homebrew, emus, dashboards..

Without being hacked (modded) the xbox 1 does not have ftp capabilities.

Hey, I wonder if you could help me with my Xbox. I reset Xboxet from softmod "SID" 5 menu using the buttons L trigger R trigger (back) and (start). And now, just the Xbox logo starts up then restarts all the time (when it should start up EvolutionX menu). I can start a game, which I put in the DVD reader (if I have time to open it completely before restarting the console itself) but can not access my evox menu.

(When this happened I was in Softmod "SID" 5 and took over the trainers in a different folder in the file sharers. Then I reset the console with the controller and then did not work to boot on the Xbox Evox)

I read a bit above and saw this with "AID" I have it on a disc soon. If it will help, I have it soon.

Any suggestions what to do to get the Xbox to work again?

I'm not English, I'm Swedish. So hope you will understand what I write =)

if your xbox can play games/discs from the dvd drive then just put in the AID disc and you can choose to install a new main dashboard.
like evox or xbox media centre.
but DONT just rush into it,wait and see what more members have to say before you think about doing that.
the more help the better i always say.

Hello again! I read through the "AID" Pdf file. Unfortunately, I just had to try to make it (stupid I know) I was able to restore and removal of the Old. (I'm a bit annoying to try myself, and it is wrong for me when I ask for help, I know). But I've thought it through and now want to reinstall all my xbox. So it is "clean", and this time I'll wait for you guys for an answer. The perfect answer hehe ^ ^

I am glad that my xbox starts up now anyway. I was quite nervous all night that it was broken.

First my ps3 got Ylod then my computer crashed and now this ..

Thanks again.

Hey people I'm back. So anyway I finally downloaded AID and burnt it to a disc. I then went and proceeded to install the evox dashboard. When it was complete I rebooted my xbox, and then the problem came. When ever It boots when it gets to the part where the microsoft logo/text appears it just keeps replaying that same instance with the microsoft logo/text appearing.

Is there something I have done wrong. My xbox still plays burnt games if they are in the disk drive to start with. But I cannot access the dashboard.

Note: My xbox does not keep rebooting it just keeps replaying the couple of seconds when the white microsoft text appears.

Anyway some help would be appreciated, and sorry for the late reply in an old thread but I just hadn't had the time to download AID. (I'm too lazy LOL) Smile

Hey mate,

If your xbox still plays backup games then you should be able to reinstall your DASHBOARD using AIDELUXE..

Remember, if you xbox is softmodded be sure to choose the menu "Install Dashboard (Softmods)" or something similar..

Another tip. If you can BOOT AIDELUXE it will enable FTP on your xbox with the following IP ADDRESS:

xbox: 192.168.0.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0

If you setup your pc with a similar ip address range you can ftp directly into your xbox hdd and backup things before you decide to reinstall the dashboard..

anyway, hope that helps you get things underway.

enjoy the site and good to see another aussie on the boards.

try installing another dashboard just to test.. This will tell us all if it is AIDeluxe having a issue or your xbox config.
