It will always go straight to that screen. Just select your hacked bios and then it will boot the disk.

The first thing should say Original Bios, the next thing should be your flashed bios (hacked bios). Just put the disk in you tray, choose that bios and see if the disk boots up.

" this hard drive does not work in mine but in my friends it does. "

Doesnt this mean his friends box would have locked the new drive?

yes but his friend says it is unlocked, I still think he should put the hard drive in and see if smartxx os says it is locked or not.

Easy check to do, could save hours.

When you are loading a hacked bios, and during the X flubber screen, what word do you see under the X? Microsoft or Xecuter2? Just curious.

This post is getting a little long, so forgive me if this has been asked, but I thougth you mentioned that this HD worked fine in your friends Xbox. I am assuming his machine is chipped. Can you put it in his machine, boot up the AI and then select UNLOCK in the HD tools.

Then, after that see what happens.

OKay, so to this point, you have tried two new hdd's, both were unloaked, both worked on your friends machine, and neither has worked on your machine.

Have you tried reflashing the entire thing? Get ride of all bios' on your xbox, and try to reflash with evox m8 or anyone of your choosing. With this done, and a new unlocked hdd you should be able to load a burned dvd-r of an auto-installer and be on your way.

If this doesnt work, I would go back and check your modchip adpter or solder points, i cant remeber if you have a solderless chip or not. Make sure the solder points are good or that the adpter is correctly fastened.
After all of this, and it still wont take your new hdd, I hate to say it, but you have a hardware or software problem someone else on the machine. I know the error codes keep giving you hdd messages, but if they work on others and not yours, something else is up.

good luck man

If you've got the newest xbox (a 1.6 or 1.6b) and you're using the smartxx le v2, you've got to use the M8 1.6 Bios. I don't think that anything else will work reliably. I'd try that before you go too much further, it looks like you were using one of evox 49xx.x bioses.

You can flash the smartxx via http. Just boot the xbox, connect it to your lan, and go to http://ip.of.your.xbox. It pops up with a menu and you can upload bios .bin files directly from your browser.

To further expand that, if you have the 1.6b should you not also be using an M8 plus beta 4 bios?? Otherwise don't you end up with game freezing issues due to the Hynix RAM??

Hello, just trying to see if I can't jump in here with some personal experience. First off when you typed in your banks. The place where you have your X2Bios is where the ED@chip your FTP client is supposed to go. Official or unOfficial the later lets you see the F & G drives. Now as far as reading Autoinstaller disks mine didn't work until I flashed M8+ Bios into one of the banks from 1-6. Also what version of SOS do you have the latest is 3333 which you can download off the SmartXX website. The ealier versions have a format bug. Now the original bios will give you an error if the drive isn't locked. Flash your Bios over make sure it's v1.6 compatible if this is your Xbox version. Then put the disk in the drive and boot the Smart operating Sys (SOS) then select your EvoM8bios don't worry if it says unknown in the bank name you can rename it later. It should boot up wether your HDD is locked or not. Also I don't know if you've looked at the SmartXX forum from the official site they have a post-install tut. That will help you out with setup but they won't discuss hacked bios and such so don't bother asking them. See if this helps to read the autoinstaller disk. Also once you have updated the SOS you can format from the Smart screen, or from the Autoinstaller. Hope this helps. Wink
